Title: Help need advise!!!!
Post by: gibby250983 on January 07, 2008, 08:29:58 AM
Right then first things first!!

Im Currently working in the north sea when i come across this very stunning rx7 type R2 for sale!! its £4750, 41000 miles, MOT and taxed, newly imported, resestard nov 2007, no previous uk owner, black, and completly standard! so i enquire about it and supurb it there for me if i want it!!!

Now the thing is that when i told my work mate they think that im stupid if i buy that because they seem to think that they come with problems after problems after problems! they also say that the engine will need to be re-built as soon as i get it! Ive looked on here and ive noticed that they can have a few problems but they seem to be eaisly fixed! ie diy jobs!

So......... If any one can spread light on the situation it will be very helpfull to me and i can also tell them to shove it up their Ars!!!

Many thanks to all who reply!!!:Thumbsup!

and these people who say this have not probs owned a rx7 they only have problems if you dont treat them right as any car dose my car has been in the uk since 2005 wit 56-57000 miles on it and stilll pulling strong! you tend to find people with rx7\'s are real car nuts who will do anything to look after them!

some of them do tend togo for a rebuild at 70k+ miles and some before hand just to be on the safe side but all depends on how they have been treated in the past! if its a brand new import it should be spot on in my opinions!

p.s. if there is alot of spelling probs its because am at collage and thecomp aint working! lol

well its still limited and the clocks havnt been change either so im guessing that it\'s a genuine import like!!!

but you are spot on there the people here havnt owned a rotory engine car before and they are just saying this (well i think) because they wanted to own one but couldn\'d aford it at the time of relise!! :rollin

My main concern is the engine rebuild, tho i am getting a 3 year warrenty with it from the finance company, so i think that should cover it if anything happens!!! Do You think?

Will have to change the fuel and the kmph-mph thing aswell!!!! :cool

If its MOTd and taxed, you wont need to change the clock. 3 year warranty is good for piece of mind.

The unreliable ones are around - most problems occur due to neglect, poor maintenance, and poor modifications.

I am not sure what "fuel" thing you will have to change??

the dial will have to be changed to read in MPH only if its going for it\'s "SVA" test. Does it need this test?

Should be good for another 20-25k yet mate!

They do need looking after, but if you treat them right, they will serve you good.....just like a good looking wife!

Double make sure that warranty covers engine and gearbox....some of them are not worth the paper they are written on!
