Title: Help fitting boost guage
Post by: declasm on January 02, 2008, 10:07:14 AM
morning guys, I just bought a boost guage and pillar pod from Halfrauds (only £40 for both so not bad). Now I need some advice -
where can I route the pipe to get to my pillar from the engine bay (preferably without drilling anything out)?
where do I connect the pipe in the engine bay to take the reading? (photos would be a massive help)
where can I connect the wires so that the backlight comes on with the sidelights? (again pics would be great!)

cheers!

Morning declasm, Im no where near my car at the moment, so i can\'t take snaps but you should beable to route the vac hose for the boost controller under your dash and through a gromet on the drivers side of the engine bay.

This usualy connects to a spare nipple on the Uper manifold :)

As for the light perhaps a feed from the Cig lighter? :Thumbs-up

What he said, there\'s a spare nipple on the upper inlet manifold.

But I connected the lights on mine to the dimmer control, so that it would also dim with the rest of the dash. Sure I have some pics somewhere...

If the lights on the gauge are like Defis you\'ll have to use something like the glove compartment which doesn\'t dim with the dash as it needs to be a proper on/off voltage switch.

i always tap my gauges into the dimmer switch thingy (on the heater control panel) so that my gauges dim with the switch!

fitted my gauge today - wired it into the cigar lighter but I think I blew a fuse because now the lighter, stereo and leccy mirrors have stopped working :(
I had a look at al the fuses and none look like they\'ve blown - anyone got any idea??
