Title: Side skirt suggestions
Post by: gregmacd on December 27, 2007, 02:03:55 PM
Guys,
I want to modify the body work quite subtly, I\'m going to keep the front bumper and blend the number plate mounting, then paint the splitter the same as the body work. I\'m going to get a rear diffuser but otherwise leave the rear as it is.

I want side skirts but I want ones that retain the waist line of the car if you know what I mean.

Ideally I want ones in 2 parts so that there is a small flare out at the front to match the canards of the splitter and a small flare out at the back.

Any suggestions?

Kevin, I don\'t think those ones work with the shape of the car, I do like drift style cars but it\'s not what I want to do with mine.

Jono, they are nice but I was looking for something a little more extreme than that.

I have done some more searching since posting this thread and I quite like FEED Afflux Carbon Side Skirts, although that wasn\'t what I originally had in mind.

Does anyone know what these side skirts are:

I also like the Re-A side skirts but I don\'t like what they do to the front air vent.

I do like the those. Do you reckon I could find a way to combine the mazdaspeed skirts with the feed carbon sills?

i would either go with the mazda standard ones- which only being a factory option makes them quite rare(hope im right saying that) or the feed ones look very smart and not over the top when being used with standard splitter and bumpers check out shineautoproject in america for replica feed options, i have a bonnet of theirs which is an amazing fit.hth:Viking

don\'t get the feed ones, because i wana \'em! lol, hope they don\'t become over populated!

yeah another vote for feed... but grant, some of those sideskirts you\'ve posted up don\'t retain the cars "waistline" at all... only the feed carbon sill truely maintains it...

Why dont you just bond a length of carbon fibre or frp to the bottom of the skirt to give it a lip instead?
