Hi there
This might be a really silly question, but Im trying to top up the FD with coolant and get rid of any air bubbles after losing a bit last week.
I refilled with coolant and started the car, when I opened the cap to check for bubbles it exploded everywhere! Now should I have this pressure?? Even if i start the car with the cap off, it just flows right out the top? in my last engine I could start the car and let it tick over with the cap off... please help!
Also has anyone got a pic of what water pipe to disconnect when bleeding the water system.
Thanks for your help!
if you are really really stuck then give me a call on07866588097
Was the engine stone cold? If not then it starts to come out pretty quick!
Also I\'ve found when you opent he filler cap it\'s pretty violent as there\'s no pressure release IYSWIM, if you open the AST a bit first then you bleed off some pressure rather than it exploding out onto you ;)
Dont have a pic, but the hose you want is on the passenger side, on the throttle control, ( near the firewall)
cheers guys for the help. I think ive managed to sort it. Took it out for a long drive and temps never climbed above 80c which seems pretty healthy. I will let it cool and check all the levels again.

Craig,
when the car is cold open the centre coolant cap and also the rad bleed nut and start the car, if there are air pockets in the system they will rise to the top as the coolant warms up, once you stop seeing the little bubbles tighten the bleed nut and then replace coolant cap.
When everything is cool again later on fill coolant you have lost.
Sorted.
Gurj :Thumbs-up
Thanks Gurj, i have a custom rad so will need to locate the bleed nipple.
Cheers

I had to do this on the Purple RX but that was easy as the aftermarket rad had the bleed valve right on the top in plain view, any air pockets should rise as the coolant heats up.
cheers :D
Keep an eye out for the Satin RX up your way Craig you\'ll hear it coming !!! :spank
I\'ll only hear it coming if im not in mine..... will keep an eye out tho!!!
