Hi, ive just look my fuel pump out of my fd hoping it would be nice and easy to identify... but its not.
Can any one help and tell me what pump this is? Someone has definatly been inside as there was a jubile clip holding the pump on!

Looks bigger than the stock one mate, standard one isn\'t held with jubilee clips! Could be a gtr pump?
Plus the top end looks a bit different with that cap thingy...
i could have really small girly hand tho... let me go and measure!!!

its about 4" high and about 2.25" in diameter
Your pump has a built in regulator you either have an apexi or tomei pump for the nissan skyline. Very good pumps unless you exceed the recommended pressure.
Brian
recommended pressure??? does this mean i dont need a fpr at the rail end???
im confused!!

Yeah that\'s the one the Tomei looks exactly the same but comes in a box that says tomei instead of apexi. Don\'t think there is a difference at all.
The built in regualtor is to protect the pump so it will cut fuel if it see\'s more than 75psi of fuel pressure. To get to that kind of pressure you would need 50psi base pressure and would need to be running 25psi of boost, so nothing for you to be concerned about.

exerlent news!! saved my a few £100 quid!
cheers for you help!
Ha, nice one Darren. That is the same pump I have, although mine is slightly modified.
Excellent bit of news !!
edit: you might want to consider a swirl pot though, in addition to an fpr
Hi Simon, how has yours been modified?
Is the car still going strong?
its modified by HKS, I;m not sure exactly what they do but means that you don\'t need a swirl pot
Car is great thanks, hurry up and get yours finished..
hi, im new to the rotatry sceen so bare with me until i get more knowlegable but im sure i have read some where that if you can hear the pump prime or something then its not a standard pump but it sounds like a load cr@p??

Hmm. What noise is it supposed to make when it\'s priming?

I couldn\'t hear my standard pump at all. Untill I put a uprated one in, when I turn the ignition on (pump primes system up to pressure) I hear a momentary wurr. So at least, in my case, yes this is true :)
I don\'t know about in an fd but in other striped out cars you can hear a the pump prime. Also can hear an uprated pump constantly wurring.

that sound about right, just a slight wuurr.
may be some one else that has a standard FD could also confirm this??
Ive got a skyline R33 GTR pump and it looks exactly the same, I had to modify the pick up sock from the old pump tho for it to fit
noisy old thing but holds pressure well
