Title: Rev counter problem
Post by: Timmy on December 20, 2007, 10:36:45 PM
Today is the first time i\'ve really actual driven the car. Been keeping careful being new to the car. I\'ve realised my rev counter isn\'t working properly, thinking i had never taken the car over 4500 rpm turned out i had. It wont read over 4500 even tho the Apexi rsm is reading higher. Also i was than sitting idleing for a minuet and it started bouncing around all over the place than went to zero where it stayed. Again the RSM was reading fine at about 800 rpm. Than it kind of worked intermitadley on the way home still not going over 4500.

I\'m thinking it is the connection where the RSM is taking it\'s reading from, anyone else got any ideas before i go taking bit of dash off this weekend?

Cheers was doing a bit of searching and found someone with basicaly the same issue. Based on the way an rsm is wired in it shouldn\'t effect it as it is a splice not input output. I think i will be looking for a replacement as it is bloody annoying.
