Anyone know a place that would tune/map PowerFC\'s in the Midland area?
think the nearest & also from all i\'ve seen/read one of if not the best UK tuner of forementionned devices is Pip @ WGT who is but a short burst up the ole M6 http://www.wgtautodevelopments.co.uk/ (http://www.wgtautodevelopments.co.uk/)
Si (about to make such a journey)
You on comission Si? ;)
Pip\'s definately one of the best in the uk but there are others with equally good reputations, Carl Hayward comes to mind (MRC username \'carl\'). Pip may well be closest to the midlands depending where about you are (north/south).
Pip did my rebuild and no complaints about the craftsmanship.

lol i wish it wood of ment i didnt have to just spend as much as i just have with Pip getting, you guessed it

, a power FC & commander. Haven\'t had it mapped yet so will have to go back at a later date to overcome the thirsty base map but still hello power

lol

That\'s next for me - plus de-cat, downpipe, injectors, fuel-pump, mappin\' and (possibly) v-mount IC. Might just go the \'cheaper\' route and get an uprated SMIC tho.
Then I\'ll need to uprate the clutch... and... and...
That\'s before sorting the cosmetics out!
Anyone got a spare 10 grand they\'re not using?
Bah, this power thing is addictive. When I got the FD it scared me witless everytime i drove it. It still does but I\'m used to it and the adrenaline rush is getting smaller.
Addicted to rotary power I guess.
Iain
mine was a necessity thou, well kinda the stadard ECU was boogered & it\'d be rude just to stick another standard un in (http://mysmilies.ipbfree.com/s/otn/wink/smily012.gif)
Si
Iain you should get a FMIC, but keep the standard rad. much cheaper than a vmount and more power than a SMIC. Thats what I\'ll be doing in future.
Thanks Si... Pips place is around 65miles away.:( oh well if thats the only way then so be it, haven\'t took it for a mway run for a while anyway:cool
lol dont moan my trip is slightly further but it\'d be rude not to need a optimax top up on the way back

lol. It is most definately worth the trip thou after my experiance with a certain local "expert" Pip is my new best friend, although my credit card loathes him! pmsl

Si
PS V mount does look/sound the best thou think it\'s the way i\'d go if i could just love the image of it in my mind of a big whale munching on all that lovely air

lol

On the plus side for v-mount - better cooling to the rad, better intercooling than SMIC and pretty rare so mucho pose factor :D
Price isn\'t all that horrendous either... Well, 1600ish if you can smuggle the whole kit past customs.

I was barely out of my county after 65miles on the way to pips, worth it though ;) cant believe how many rx7\'s suddenly popped up after he opened! his garage is like a tardis
How much it is for a mapping session? I called today but the lady said the guys were busy and needed me to call back later, but I didn\'t have time.
Think around the £200 mark from memory mate
Cheers bud!;)
yeah was just under, wont say the price incase i misquote  lol, when i asked but he couldn\'t do it straight away as he needed to plug a number of various bits & bobs in & was already a busy fella :D
