Title: full respray
Post by: Eddie on December 19, 2007, 11:09:19 PM
Hi all will be posting pics soon, but just though I would post anyway as I am so excited.

Got my FD resprayed this week and went to take a look today:)

Kept black as its my fav colour, but the guy spraying it said we have a litre of paint left we will do any interior parts as well :) well I think he wished  they would have never said that as I started to strip the cars insides, any thing which could be sprayed was ripped out, and is now colour coded, and they prepered it all for me:) I am sure they had no idea so much could be removed:) I had to remove and put it back in though.

Whilst it was in I got the spoiler removed, ariel and rear wiper, fancied the bare arsed look. whilst at it I got a rear diffuser fitted as well.

Also went for some sleek headights I made my self, pics to follow.
best of all he did not mnd me comming in and working on the car during the day.

Cant wait to post some pics, but my camera battery died.

And best of all got the full job for free, just need to pay 90 quid for paint:) I have agreed to make this guys web site, started on it here, hes a smart repair guy http://www.delete-a-dent.com/

Got somthing up and running quick for him now going back to make it a proper site.

The other deal was that I take him to some meets in the future to show his work and maybe he will get some jobs from it.

This guys brill and I cant say a bad word, service and experience is spot on, hes based in Oldham and anyone wanting any dents or anything removed or done give him a call number on the web site.

Pics to follow in the next couple of days.

Thanks for the replies, been waiting ages to get it sprayed the 16 year old paint was staring to look taty, and i luv the bare arsed look now.
Heres some more pics

The lights
Bought  lexan covers from a member here for 50 quid.
Bought a set of ebay angel eye lights second hand for 60 quid, then started choping and fibrglassing then bogging, the result is a sleek set of lights, in each head lamp I used one angel eye lamp and another set of projector lamps I bought for 15 quid of ebay.

so for 125 quid and about 3 hours work on each lamp got a nice set of lamps, much betterer than the ebay ones I had on before (these are going for sale soon now I have finished these)

Also masked out my front turn and side light and colour coded them as well just leaving two circles.

Cant wait to see it buffed and out in the sun shine.

Will be taking it to the next north meet to show her off.

just dont know what to do with my whels now.

Regards

Yes I dropped the line on hte lights  little  as I didn\'t want to chop away any of the metal on the car which you have to do to sit the lights further back.

sleepy all the way:Snoring

I do prefer them to the ebay bug eye look I had before:)

Very nice mate!  Stealth looking :0

I like the current wheels, but it would look even meaner on the Advans or another set of JDM rims.

Keep up the good work:)

Hah, yeah i know that joy all too well of moving goal posts! Any idea of the kind of prices they would charge for a respray in the same color? and yeah ill make sure to have a look next time i pop over to a meet.
Title: goal posts
Post by: Eddie on January 11, 2008, 09:43:34 PM
Goal posts think they got took of the field a long time ago, was only meant ot be a simple job, I dont mind though as my car does look mint:)

On cost, I know he charged this guy with the TVR £1800, the rx is easier not as many in and out bits and  the paint is cheaper, I will ask him when I next see him, should\'nt be long as he usualy pops over for a beer as he lives behind me, he always brings a scruffy a4 piece of paper with points for me to change, and when we have had a beer or two he comes up with more changes LOL not the best time to do them, i\'m sure people have checked out the speeling and grammer not I am so bad at english and after a beer well I have looked back and thought what was i thinking :)

Cheers
