Im in the process of building a single turbo FD3\'s using a T04Z. Ive had all the engine work done and ive got the turbo, its the 1.00A/R version of the HKS T04Z
Im just having a bit of trouble deciding on what size Wastgate and what top mount manifold to buy?
I was thinking of a Tial 48mm wastage but not sure if this would be large enough?
If anyone\'s got some links on where to get the parts that would be much appriciated!
Has anyone done anything similar or can someone reccomend a decent top mount manifold?

Hi and welcome, a 48mm wg should be plenty, you\'d only need something big if you\'re running a small hotside but the 1.0a/r is fine. Not sure on which manifold is best, there are a number of developments state side with equal length manifolds but I\'ll let someone with some first hand experience dial in here.

Now I just need to try and find a decent manifold, I keep seeing cheap one\'s on ebay but don\'t want something with poor flow charcteristics thats going to crack, or are they all pretty similar?

I wouldn\'t go with an ebay manifold. Google A-spec, horsepower in a box, Gotham racing - they should all have something to suit your needs. Some food for thought: http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=663385

I don\'t really want to get something custom made, was looking for something tried and tested to be honest with you!
Ill have a search on those websites, ive already checked horsepowerinabox and they don\'t seem to have much, ill check the other 2 companys and see if they have anything!

Horsepower in a box is the manifold I bought for my TO4Z along with the downpipe and turbosmart wastegate they sell as you can tell from my sig it is tried and tested :D
i\'ve got an ebay stainless manifold, cost £120 and have been using it for over a year with a GT35R and now with a T04Z. Took it off recently when i changed the turbo and i can\'t find anythin wrong with it!

Yeah. I used one of those manifolds and had no probs with it, although Carl made a few extra welds..
What about a HKS manifold? ?
There\'s a guy in Oz that makes them on Ausrotary.com. He\'s got cracking feeback and they are about $300 AUD, plus shipping.
i cant seem to find a picture of the hks one:( there is just a pic of a subaru one! but im not very good at this computer stuff,being a mechanic im more hands on!:chat i like the look of the gotham racing one,lt seems like it will bring the turbo quite high and far forward and has v-band fitting for the wastegate which is nice. and the horsepower in a box one is great cos it has everything in it and i dont have any oil or water pipes yet! now there are too many options!!:Laugh

you are in luck got pics of the Horse power in a box kit pre fitting, and after I installed it orginally in my old car you can see the manifold is quality

no i run the largest FMIC you can get for the FD GReddy 3 ROW SPL32, but I have seen this kit with a v mount fitted though

ah good cos im v-mounting mine. the car will be mainly for the track and event days and when i used to work at wgt i fitted a few and like the setup. so uve not had any trouble with the turbo kit? cos its looking the favourite atm!
none myself defo recommend it and Morrie at HPIAB gives good aftersales service
