Title: SMB High flow CAT
Post by: GaseJo on December 13, 2007, 08:30:58 PM
Hi all,

I have just got one of the above. A couple of questions.

1. There seems to be no conection for the air pump, does it fit somewhere else or can the air pump be removed now?

2. How does the CAT sensor attach to it?

3. I have got a Blitz Nur spec to fit with this will i need a Re map to fit these? the other modz on at the moment is just a Apexi Induction Kit

Cheers Garith.

Any cat would need air to make it work/burn properly. If you are not sure about connections give Grant at SMB a message on Info@walkerman.com.au .

How will you remap unless you have a programmable ECU like an Apexi Power FC?

If you are going to fit a cat back freer flowing exhaust and already have an induction kit which makes two mods, then you do not want to go further really without a programmable ECU. Get the Apexi Power FC then away you go and get the hi flow cat mapped.

Hi B9 KLF,

I have a Apexi power FC & commander fitted allready. It is only the basic learning map running on it as i have not been using the car. At the moment i only have the induction kit fitted the nur spec and smb cat are waiting to go on. What i need to know is can i fit them then drive to get it mapped or have them fitted and mapped at the same time?

Cheers Garith.

In my opinion you can fit the items and drive as long as you dont drive like Stirling Moss and redline it in every gear. Even with those mods you still dont need to drive like your Gran just be careful of those boost spikes and get it tuned at the earliest oportunity.

the smb cat doesnt require the airpump to be attatched allthough it is an option(bit late now though
older style cats do require airpump but very few modern cars run airpumps
