Title: Another newbie!
Post by: Cooch on December 06, 2007, 12:22:10 AM
Hi guys and girls

Tomorrow night i shal be picking up my first Rx-7. Its an Efini in dark greeny bluely colour (montego blue??????). Im going from a Starlet GT Turbo up to this so its a bit of a step up! Hopefully after christmas i shall be booking up a skid pan day just to help me as i\'m not use to RWD.

One quick question is that the first turbo seems to be letting off boost early. It winds up and boots up but just seems to let off a lil early (doesn\'t disturb the second turbo\'s operation). I was thinking it might be a weak dump valve so that was my first thing i was gona test. Any other suggestions?

I shall post up pics after the weekend once i\'ve had chance to give a good clean up.

And last thing-Big thanks to Martin @ Speedline imports for sorting my first few parts out

-99 Spec rear lights(to get rid of the lexus lights-previous owner wasn\'t a chav!:Tongue1 )
-HKS Silent power exhaust

Cheers Guys

Cooch

Are you sure it\'s not just the normal dip in boost when the 2 turbo\'s cross over? around 4500rpm it drops to 8psi before going back up to 10.

P.S. And welcome to the club :D

Oh dear :( thanks lol

Ah cool Scratchies not far from me then.

On a side note got to actually drive it properly today as last night it was raining! It\'s got a massive boost leak on the first turbo. Had a look today and found a collapsed vacum hose for No.1 Dump valve. Replaced it. No joy so im gona take it back into work tomorrow and have another look. Oh and also managed to lose a headlight cover this morning on the way to work :Hammer . Plastic appears to have gone brittle over time and it had enough this morning. Lol
