My FD is starting to come together nicely now, but the only thing that lets it down is the poor poor POOR quality interior components.
I leaned on the drivers door yesterday and managed to crack the top flap to the cubby holder which was nice, mind you it\'s stopped it rattling now though. :Grrr
I was looking at buying the Mazdaspeed carbon interior panels, but couldnt justify the near enough £1000 price tag for all the sections, plus mazdaspeed discontinued them not so long ago.
I was just wondering wether anyone had any tips on making the interior more substaintial or atleast less rattley?.............apart from stripping it out all together!....... :rollin
Do what I have...Install a later spec interior :)
The plastics have a really nice "slightly rubbery" feel, and the paint doesnt flake off (common problem with earlier cars) :)
I know it means ripping the interior out, but it really is a world of difference...IMO...just an option you could look into, thats all :)
Didnt think there was much difference between the specs. How much did that set you back if you dont mind me asking? And were from?
It was on there when I bought the car (With the old panels stuffed into the back lol) Im not sure exactly what year its from but the paint doesnt scratch off and the feel is deffo different :)
Sorry I can\'t be any more help :( ...The only visual difference is the "hot cold" blue, red part...

I have the Carbon Style Mazdaspeed panels including the drivers door piece. Really updates the interior nicely. These pop up on ebay and yahoo japan regularly too.
contact rhdjapan.com nowhere near 1000.00 pounds and they got mine really quick
Mazdaspeed have discontinued them so cant get them from RHD anymore unfortunately.
mazdarotaryparts sell them for around £200 for each panel
I think Initial-D might be able to help, his look superb and I think I\'m right in saying he did most of the work himself. Result = mazdaspeed looks, bargain price! :-)
