Im just waiting for delivery of this Re-amemiya rear bumper, and i will need to get the exhaust done for the center exit, i have a racing beat at the mo, can it be modified or do i need a new exhaust custom made?
Also does anyone knows anywhere that custom makes exhausts?
Unfortunatly if you look under the back of the car you will see you have a big petrol tank that is going to stop you modifying the exhaust to come out of the middle as per picture and to loose the tank to make the kind or room your going to need with big mods like a custom fuel tank.
However if you don\'t want to get that searious it looks like you still have lots of room to fit the RB system in the normal place and then you could blank the big middle hole.
Even taking this easy route the back end of your care would still look very trick :cool
Yep, thought it wouldnt be easy! lol, will probley keep exhaust in the normal place at first then look at getting it out the center one day...............:D cheers
Clive is certainly right but if you are going to go to the expense of this kit then its surely worth the price to get something made to fit. The fuel tank will defo have to move out the way but you can possibly utilise the spare wheel bay for a fuel tank if you can get something fabricated to fit. Might be worth trying to see on the underside of a kitted out car and this might give you some clues as to how they did it.
The only car i can find with the bumper fitted is the Re-amemiya car, i didnt buy the whole kit just the rear bumper coz the rest of the kit looks like a porsche! :Nono!
im adding bits of diffrent kits like chargespeed arches feed front end etc...
the only info RE-A give in a magazine interveiw is that they extended the exhust pipe 90 degreas to make the center exit, didnt say if they moved the fuel tank or not.
miguel at newera asked them if they made a custom exhust and they said it would cost £2500 + shipping!! he sugested i get it done cheaper in england, i think i will get him to ask Re-A about what they did with the fuel tank.
You can see exactly what they have done by looking at the picture of the back of the car (where it is on chassis stands). The exhaust is still mounted in the standard place but instead of an exit pipe there is apipe coming out of the silencer, bending 90 degrees across the back of the fuel tank, then must bend 90 degress again to exit from the centre hole.
Can\'t be good for performance!
The picture alos makes it clear you keep the standard box and exit at the side.
There are hundreds of people in the Uk that could build you up a read silencer with the bends in it. Just google/yellow pages it.
In fact you can see the standard tank still on its straps as well. There is some heat resistant foil between the tank and the pipe and final 90 degree bend to the exit.
Easy, but will rob God knows how much grunt.
well i can see that 90 deg bend quite clearly. you know this might not be as bad depending on how far the bumper sticks out and hence how much room between the tank and bumper. I think it certainly might be possible. The exhaust will just use its original mounting hanger points. Whatever is fabricated to fit can be coated in ceramic that will keep the heat away, you can also heat wrap it as well so you never know its still a cheaper option than installing a small internal tank which is pretty certain how they did it.
Its certainly a lovely kit and i do agreee that its like a porche at the front, not my cup of tea either.

Should be able to help. They have modified my exhaust several times and do top quality work. They\'d even be able to make a custom fuel tank as required.
EDIT: Don\'t use the web contact form as it\'s down.... best give them a ring :)
cheers for the help chaps, will contact jon rathbone racing, they look good, the bumper should be here in a few weeks, cant wait to get all the stuff on the car, then my mum can stop moaning that all the parts, wheels etc are stacked up in the spare room!
:) Good luck dude... the bumper is awesome...
thats gonna seriously affect your performance i would have thought with 2 90 bends....why not go side exit like the tvr sagaris.......
The RE-A car was built to run high speed smoothly so I can\'t imagine it\'s that bad... sure it\'s never going to be as good as a straight system but sometimes looking good is more important than every last bhp...
I\'d trade some power for a quieter exhaust... seriously considering dumping my current exhaust for a cat and knight sports ti back box.... nice and quiet.
Are you getting the lights to fit the kit as well matey?
Dont forget to post plenty pics when its fitted. Was interested in the MK1 version of the rear end to go with my front a while ago, but wasnt sure so went another route. Interested to see how wild this one looks on a non RE show car :)
Chris
could u not cut a hole say b4 the fuel tank and angle the exhaust through the back end of the car and back out angain over the fuel tank? angles wont be so extreme then?
have a look at corsa/saxco and it\'s got the same thing. very ballsy!

looked at the whole kit, think it was about 7k, but really wanted to try to make the car look original by mixing up diffrent bits of kits.
Have got the RE-A sleek lights to go with, so should help the front fit in with the rear, i just hope it dont look like crap when im done! :)
will post up pics when it all starts to come together.
The RE-amemiya car is a 650hp triple rotor.............. here is a link about it http://www.turbomagazine.com/features/0611turp_mazda_rx7fd3s_206/index.html (http://www.turbomagazine.com/features/0611turp_mazda_rx7fd3s_206/index.html)
and if you look under Re-amemiya on youtube there is a video of it aswell.

Are you going for the rear lights as well then bud? Should help the individual look, but will be a good few extra £££s :)
Chris
Just do a side exit exhaust just in front of the rear wheel!... :D
We will soon have our new custom exhaust that is made here in the UK.
Its 2 criteria were:
Quiet so they will be under 98dB for all track use.
Long lasting Stainless with re-packable silencers.
They will be complete systems from Single turbo Manifolds to end pipe, and you will be able to choose from offside exit or centre exit.
The manifolds and wastegate pipes also come with the option of ceramic coating.
For those that decide they want to go for a centre system we also offer a fuel replacement cell.
They are due to us within the month, and we will get some pictures up of them then
xmas comes early! the bumper has arrived in 2 huge boxes from japan, the bumper kit contains- rear bumper , rear lights, carbon fiber diffuser and cf side generators for diffuser. its set up to use the normal exhaust exit with reverse light in center like on the pic i found on RE-A web site, will keep it like that for the moment, will start up a project thread with pics after xmas.:)

Awesome looking machine. I have to agree that the exhaust looks best as a centre exit.
If you\'re looking for a reliable custom exhaust shop, I have used Flowtech, near Romford Essex. Paul has done a full stainless exhaust for my Corvette and the workmanship was second to none. I realise it\'s a bit of a hike from where you\'re at, but would be well worth looking them up for advise.
PM me if you\'d like the number.
Also, if you\'re thinking of selling on the racing beat, pls let me know.
Good luck on what will be an awesome maching (I\'m slowly turning green):Thumbs-up

Its better to take it to an exhaust workshop to get one made to the car rather than making one from a jig. The thing only has to be a tiny ammount out and you end up cutting the ****er up and welding it up again. I can do them at a reasonable cost if you want them done properly. Tig welded stainless to your own spec rather than off the shelf non fitters anyone? I can get them ceramic coated aswell although I wouldnt bother on a road car.
Does that mean that Mazda hand make each of their parts for every car they produce??
We supply single turbo conversions, these are guaranteed to fit every car...and don\'t need to be individually made for each customer....it is the same with the exhausts. The system you are after is no different than the systems we are producing for our own cars.

Of course mazda dont hand make their exhausts. However many of the RX\'s on the road today are very different from each other and in which case it is much better to have a custom one made on the car, and as I said the ceramic coating isnt needed. I\'d like to see your guarantee. Most of the cars I have worked on the parts dont just fit off the shelf, in fact they hardly ever just fit.
The systems we are providing are designed by an engineering company that also build exhausts for an F1 team, single seaters, and touring cars. I am confident they are more than capable of producing a product that is more than worthy of the job in hand.
Now Mr WackyRacer.....it\'s rude to not introduce yourself before starting to offer services.....so tell us a bit about yourself?

Now Mr Atomic Rex. My name is Stuart, I have 2.4 children a wife, a girlfriend and a dog. MY neighbour has a cat which prefers "whiskas" rather than "go kat". I have been a mechanic for many years and specilaise in fabrication and welding of most materials as well as GRP, kevlar and carbon. I have ran a historic F1 car so as for your top trumps game I have done it and got the T shirt rather than know someone who has the Tank top. So tell me about yourself as you seem to have taken an interest in me. ;0)
