Title: My new single turbo monster...
Post by: prince_of_tokyo on November 29, 2007, 12:08:03 AM
Hi all :Thumbs-up

Got the FD bug again and decided to go almost full whack this time with a big single FD... havent got that many decent pics yet but will have soon...

got rid of this 392bhp rapid machine couple of months ago

to get my hand on this baby skyline (around a mere 350bhp) R33 GTR V-Spec in midnight purple...i always dreamt of getting one

but since getting this, have been pursuaded to go full whack with this T78 TRUST prepared FD

quick spec of the car:

Mazda RX-7
dyno\'d at just under 500 on a safe map and boost...might tamper with it a little
1994 Type R II
Trust / Greddy T78 Single Turbo
NAGISA AUTO (HKS F-CON) ECU
13B REW Race Spec – Full Engine Rebuild Circa 5000 Miles Ago
Extended street port

Trust / Greddy Air filter
Trust / Greddy T78 Single Turbo
Trust / Greddy Exhaust Manifold
60mm Trust Wastegate
Trust / Greddy Enlarged Throttle Body Elbow
External Screamer Pipe
Largened Downpipe
Santoi Garage custom exhaust
Greddy Pulley Kit
NGK Iridium Spark plugs
Trust HT leads
High Flow Fuel Pump
uprated earthing kit
Stainless Steel Fuel Lines
OS Giken Twin Plate Clutch System
Lightened and skimmed Flywheel
Rollcage
1.5 Way LSD
Quickshift
Cooling Pan
Mazda Speed Power Plant Frame
Diff Mounts
Transmission Brace
Stainless Steel Braking Hose
Ride Height Race Suspension with Damping
EBC Brake Pads
Carbing Front & Rear Strut Brace
Harnesses

Still needs a little work to make it look the business as its quite standard outside except from a set of Rays\'s deep dish gram lights...will keep the progress posted...

This now also means the R33 GTR V-spec is up for sale...if anyones interested, drop us a PM...

More decent pics to follow shortly...

:Thumbs-up

been trying to call the guy up but no answer...apparently he lost the back end and rolled into a ditch... hope he was ok...gutted

Post by: Rzla on November 30, 2007, 04:40:15 PM
4 wheel drives give people wayyy to much confidence
they think the cant loose the back end and it stick to the road no matter what
Title: My new single turbo monster...
Post by: prince_of_tokyo on November 30, 2007, 05:36:54 PM
just got in touch with the guy who bought it off me...hes ok, sold it to someone else a few weeks later who rolled it into a ditch on his way home...gutted

type-r scooby\'s are a completely different machine to 4 door scoobs due to the DCCD (driver controlled centre diff) which means power split is 64:36 back:front when left fully open for road use, and as the are quite high off the ground and have such a short wheel base they tend to skip around bends and kick out the back end. good for those who know exactly what there doing...not so good for unexperienced drivers...

man what awas of a awsome car, i had a sti wrx 4 door seriously modded n it was a handfull, never lost it tho..
Title: My new single turbo monster...
Post by: m4drx on November 30, 2007, 07:26:28 PM
the guy who rolled it is a friend of a friend. He had ALOT of nice cars inc several skylines and an rx so not due to inexperience and apparently he wasnt doing anything silly at all!

Had no insurance and was driving it home and went into the ditch. ill get some more pics if i can.

he wasnt hurt at all and bought another car shortly after but i dont think he got a penny on this.

lives in reading i believe.
Title: My new single turbo monster...
Post by: m4drx on November 30, 2007, 07:30:21 PM
it came up in conversation a while ago before it happend as whoever owned it before took it to the london tunnel run and was following all the rx7\'s and when i was showing a friend some pics of the run he spotted it and said my mate just bought and demolished that car! lol i would be gutted if it was my old one out of sentimental value i suppose.

The cars he had before were top end motors too so not your average rubbish just got caught out i suppose, think it was diesel or something on the road.
Title: My new single turbo monster...
Post by: prince_of_tokyo on November 30, 2007, 09:39:57 PM
i was the one who took it to the jap girls tunnel run, looked after that car like no other and did alot of work on it to get to its final condition, but like anything fancied a change so after around a years worth of fun and work fancied a change...does hurt seeng the car trashed but **** happens...as long as the guy driving it is ok, cars come and go
Title: My new single turbo monster...
Post by: m4drx on December 01, 2007, 02:58:14 PM
yep as far as i know he wasnt scratched.

the car looked phenominal at the tunnel run.

Hiya mate glad it was you i thought you had sold it on, was a good car the subaru i must admit i was gutted when it went. I cant believe it has been wrote off its such a waste of a well sorted car. I sold the s2000 and bought a supra TT 6 speed but i have just sold that 2. I am after a skyline now exactly like the one you had that was gorgeous, how much did you sell it for what did you think of it? the skyline i mean.

nice rex too mate

LIke what you did with the plate too mate, never thought of doing that
Title: My new single turbo monster...
Post by: prince_of_tokyo on December 04, 2007, 10:52:46 PM
Ive still got that skyline mate... was really waiting till after christmas to sell it... its a 1996 R33 GTR V-SPEC...have to sell it on as in my area its just too hot...very difficult to keep any kind of skyline about here as the youngsters hold too much of an interest in it if you know what i mean...

its pretty much standard exept from 18" BBS alloys, Apexi power FC mapped to uk fuel, Greddy boost controller and an os-giken clutch...dont think its running too much...id estimate anywhere from 330-350 which in skyline terms is a baby...50,000miles on the clock

as with how it feels...a well sorted everyday car...not as manic and rapid as the scooby but good top end

looking around 10k...let us know if you interested m8
