Title: Hopefully not a daft question
Post by: Cybersloth on November 19, 2007, 08:13:22 PM
Could someone tell me what the device is screwed in above the top spark plug on the forward rotor housing on my FD is please.  It has a wire attached to it so I am assuming some sort of sender or switch.  There is a lot of oil in the area of the electrical connection and i\'m wondering if this could be the source of my oil leak ?

I can\'t find it in any of the manuals, maybe oil pressure, temperature, knock or ?

Thanks Keith

its the knock sensor and it screws into a blind hole. but one of the oil cooler lines is close to there on top of the front plate. i think you can see it from the front but not side or abouve from memory.

I can\'t see oe the knock senor could leak oil, it should not be in an oilway, i\'ll take a realy close look at the cooler hoses in this area, thanks for the steer
