Hi Guy\'s, I have just started experiencing a different problem with the dreaded coolant low buzzer. It has recently started going off only when starting the car from cold. After about 6-10 seconds it goes off and no more problems. :2Confused
Water temp is fine, engine runs great and no water is lost.
Could this be the water seperater unit packing up and letting air back into the engine from the expansion tank pipe when cooling or could it be a bigger issue.
I could really do without stripping the enging just yet.
On a similar note. Where can I get hold of a workshop manual for the car as they seem rarer than hens teeth?
Thanks for your advice as always
Don\'t know anything about the FD but the FB can suffer a bit from the smallest of air pockets in the top of the rad causing this problem. The sensor is right at the top of the water. It\'s always after a coolant change or rad removal. A bit of squdging of the hoses to push water out down into the expansion bottle is the cure. (Cold engine required to remove rad cap).
Cheers, will give it a try. Have heard too many horror stories about the water seals going on these engines.
Thanks
Sounds like a dodge Cap.
It would be worth your While investing in a set of new caps, Don\'t forget the Unsprung one goes on the Engine and the sprung one goes on the AST (The plastic tank next to the battery/Intercooler)
Not that you are having water seal problems but to help stop you panicing the biggest sign of a Failure is the Rad pipes going hard very quickly after you start it from Cold.
It just sounds like its Drawing air in when it cools.
Some thing else to check is the Plastic AST Tank isn\'t Cracked or damaged and the Plastic End tanks on the rad aren\'t cracked or Damaged.
Thanks Grizzly, will get \'em ordered. Fingers crossed
