This morning my normal petrol station was closed, so I travelled on to the BP garage on the A31 at Farnham.
There I was relieved of 112.9p a litre of super unleaded!!! WTF???!!!
to this end I found //www.petrolprices.com
you have to register, but once you do it will give you the fuel prices of all the petrol station within a radius of a postcode.
I can\'t believe it either - Tesco 99 by me has just gone up to 106.9p a litre!!! WTF is going on?????

Mate, that is I think the most expensive petrol station around here. I avoid it at all costs..

Hmm, dont think i would.
Ive just worked it out on http://www.convert-me.com/en/convert/fuel that an fd that does 15 uk mpg = 5.31km per liter, so 5.31km converted into miles = 3.293m.
Average petrol prices is £1.02 per liter. So it costs £1.02 to travel 3.293 miles, i can imagine how much £3 a liter would cost lol, about £1 per mile :2Rolleyes

Dont take me so literally but to be honest I wouldnt care :D
Its all about smiles and ya cant put a price on that :p
I had to laugh today, as work have put the mileage rates up for company leased cars, but not private mileage! You\'ve just got to love them.

The worse thing is, that you know the petrol companies are buying the fuel by the barrel in dollars right now, so its costing them next to nothing... and the prices are still going up!!
Analysts are predicting £1.30 a litre by March 2008.
The other point alot of people overlook is that the petrol that is coming out of the pump now usually was bought 2 months ago and refined upto now. The price increase in the current barrel price then gives them a tidy profit.

Just wated the rerun of that dispatches program... Intesting but what it pointed out to me is that we\'re still a very rich country with lots of people with lots of dispoable income, we\'d all like more sure, but if money were that tight we\'d be driving D reg micra\'s and spending the rest on food...
...Sadly this means they can keep upping the prices more and more as there\'s "room" before we break!
What an excellent site - thanks for posting the link up :)
Just keep in mind that their data can be out of date - so if you go to the cheapest petrol station according to the website, you may find that it\'s a couple of pence more than indicated.
Nevertheless it\'s a useful website that can provide some interesting insight on the local pricing policies (for example, my local Shell is usually the same price or cheaper for regular unleaded compared to Tescos, and the other supermarkets are actually more expensive...)
Oh yeah I wouldn\'t take their prices as absolute, but at least it will tell you the most likely cheapest petrol.
I got an email from them today saying you only get 20 free searches, but when you run out you get 20 more free searches...so....
I just figured it was a better way than seeing those emails saying \'Petrol is too expensive!!! Don\'t drive for a day!!! or Boycott Esso and BP!!!\'
It is a far more realistic way of dealing with the petrol situation. Vote with your feet. Or tyres maybe.
Actually what I did was sign up with them (with one of my semi-throwaway accounts) and they\'re now sending me the email with the cheapest petrol stations around Ashford three times a week. Very handy, this.
And yes, I\'m with you regarding voting with my tyres :). I\'ve got an Esso station at the end of the road I live in but as they\'re extracting the urine price-wise I\'m not giving them my money...
like they said on top gear petrol aint that dear when u can pay 1.50 for a ltr of bottled water, but i drink maybe 3-4 ltrs of water a day my fd3 drinks about 3-4 ltrs of petrol every ten minutes! fair do\'s my car is crap on petrol, i lent it to my mate who was suprised to get nearly 80quid in the tank and was even more suprised when he got to birmingham and half of it had gone...where it go\'s we will never know but i think its worth every penny when its going in to a an fd3 :)

I think making daft comparisons isn\'t really true, i\'ve never bought bottled water as its the most crazy thing you can buy when you think about it, you get water from the tap ;)
Remember my brother once after football he had a fag and then a bottled water bottle and said to me "its good for you this bottled water" :2Confused :rollin :rollin :rollin
Its like saying well insurance is like paying a mortgage why complain ?:3Confused
