Title: Modified Primary rail to accept 850cc\'s
Post by: Mr_7 on November 13, 2007, 08:44:30 PM
As title i have put my 850cc\'s in the primary for a single coversion, obviously the 850\'s are shorter than the 550\'s and i always read that machining is required- but what is machined in the rail? (pictures or diagrams?)

Also would there be an advantage to get 850 top feeds with custom rail rather than side feed?

cheers guys

Where it is fed from I don\'t think gives you an advantage.  If you where going to the trouble of having a rail made up then I would leave the stock primary\'s and have the new fuel rail for the secondary and run much larger secondary\'s.

They take a small amount of metal away from the inside if the fuel rail where the injector sits.  This makes it sit slightly lower.  I stand to be corrected on these but I think I have remembered correct?

i think it all depends on your target 4x850 injectors would give a max power of 400bhp ish.

using 1680 seconderys would see upwards of 500 bhp.

Bobert- i cant really see from the photos what you have done, it looks like you have shaved the top of the housing but i dont think this is necessary - they fit perfectly inside its just the actual length of the injector nozzle thats shorter. By lowering the injector in the housing surely will deprive it of fuel as its side fed?

Im running 850 primaries with 1600\'s secondaries with a gt42r bush bearing turbo and much more lol- looking for 450-470 rwhp
