Title: HKS twin power??
Post by: Grizzly on November 13, 2007, 03:08:23 PM
Hi all.

I have had a HKS Twin Power ignition amplifier sat in my garage for a year or so and every time i\'ve gone to fit it something has caused me to get side tracked.

What is the advantage of fitting one to a car running 360 (flwheel hp)? i read it will help Plug life and help a little with MPG? for those with them Fitted does this sound about right or is it a Bit of a waste of time and only realy for big hp cars??

Cheers.
Chris

It gives a double strike on the ignition so yes no igntion breakup should yeild better efficency which turn will give better burn and mpg. You may see a slight power increase given no other changes. So defo fit it I say

They generally help with ignition breakup, so for running more boost by providing a stronger spark. Apparently they can shorten plug life, yet to find this out on mine.

On a different car but as well as all above we found that the car seemed to start a bit quicker. Fit it! :Thumbs-up

mine wouldn\'t boost up at 0.9 without it (to get to 380 fwhp), the power was unreliable at the top end. If your ignition is in good nick perhaps you don\'t need it but to take it further forward you will benefit from it. Added to that, new plugs and leads added an extra 5 rwhp on mine!

I\'ve not heard of plug wear as a result of them
