Title: Clutch problems
Post by: ohms on November 10, 2007, 09:04:38 PM
Hi all,

started the rex up today and have noticed that I\'m getting a noise from the clutch. it\'s only when the cltch is engaged, but goes away when I put my foot on the pedal. Am assuming it\'s the release bearing on the way out, but on other cars I\'ve owned the symptoms of release bearing failure seem to be the other way round.

thoughts and opinions?:D

Thanks chaps

If you have a stock clutch same page you can buy just the plates.

Or ther is ADL

Again all parts can be bought seperately

G/Box oils.

Yep release bearing is dead,

Bit of advise for you that may help,

Only change just a the center plate if you are 100% sure that the pressure plate fingers are O/K and there is no distortion or discoloration to the friction face, besides buying the bits normally works out to be very little difference price wise to a complete clutch assembly.

Here is the full Exedy clutch trouble shooting guide.
http://www.exedy.co.uk/index.php?main_page=troubleshooting_guide

You asked for the cheapest price out there and it\'s quite possible we are at £287.88 inc vat delivered, also it\'s an Exedy clutch which is fitted to these cars on the production line.

More details can be found here if you wish to buy,

Hope this helps.
