Title: RX7 FC NEW Exhaust System !
Post by: 2connect on November 07, 2007, 08:11:26 PM
Hi , im looking to price a RX7 1987 FC (non turbo) 13B Exhaust system.

I have someone to fit it, just need a reasonably decent system at the right money, you know - planet earth money not the astronomical moon money  some people want.

any pointers to manufacturers, distributers or factors , or anyone got one they wanna sell me - new or nearly new - pressed or stainless ...

Some of the ones I have seen should be made from solid gold with diamonds encrusted around the final exit port, for the price they wanted !!! I have to keep telling myself - look its just a bent piece of metal tubing ... you know just so I dont forget ... ha ha

Thanks in advance

G

the fc is a very easy car to make an exhaust for.  depending on how quiet you want it and whether you have a set of headers or if you are going to attach it to the heat exchanger.

I made mine (twin exit) with pipe from Burtons and a Halfrauds welder.  If your fitter can weld, it may be worth buying a couple of stainless silences from ebay and a nice 2.5 inch mid silencer with a couple of bends and straight bits of exhaust tube and fitting together on a ramp.   There is loads of room under the car for silencers, the mazda ones are huge,  you wont find an aftermarket that is too big.

thats a £1000, which is alot of money.    i made my turbo back for £200 with silencers from the turbo back.

He has an egi which would require headers so could be a little more expensive
