Title: A great day out!!
Post by: Paul1982 on November 07, 2007, 09:12:03 AM
Morning guys,

Just wanted to share my day with you guys J.

Well 04:00 yesterday like a little kid I was up and All excited about my day ahead of me.
Its been 4 months with my car being sat on the drive as I didn’t have the cash to get her on the road and the day had finally come to get her treated.

So half 6, I was picked up by my Big John and his 4x4 (who is a Looney) we drove 25 miles to pick up my other mates trailer and 25 miles back to put the RX on.

So we set off for another 100 miles to Haywards. We just set off and my alarm kicks off within the first 10 meters. I guess the alarm thought the car was being stolen and I had to try and shut the bloody thing up for 50 miles hanging out of the window L.
John who owns the 4x4 was an ex bus drives and was doing 75-80 with the bloody car on the back. So I was sh*tting & praying to god all the way that we make it lol

Anyway we finally got there at 11 and got it into the garage.
First time I met Jeff, Ian and Carl and we had a laugh straight away. I instantly got abused with the glitter paint that the last owner had put under the bonnet (Not there anymore Thanks God!!).

I bought the car 4 months ago and it didn’t pass the MOT cos of emissions. So first of all I hadn’t really driven it so didn’t know the condition of the engine. When we got there the first thing was to check the compression.
SH*TTING MYSELF â€" CROSSING EVERY FINGER â€" We did it.
And guess what 8.3 8.3 8.1 on the first and 7.9 8.0 8.0 on the second â€" So I was chuffed to beans.

I bought the car of an Importer and It had nothing with it â€" no information of anything as he lost it.
He said he thinks it was rebuild in Japan but had nothing to prove it.
So when Ian said it was the best readings he’s seen in a long time I was beaming!!

Jeff Kindly let me have his new Apexi while I’m waiting to get another one for him (Topman!!) he installed it and Ian and Jeff set out trying to fit the Induction Kit and Intercooler.
Personally I thought they’d never fit but after 21 stone in weight was offered (Big John) they got it all together.

While I was there I asked about the non-sequential setup and quickly realised it was for me as I can save fuel if needed so that was also done.

The MOT was booked in for 16:00 so after Ian was 100% happy with ripping all the girly stuff out of the car it went in.
The emissions was still pushing 8% so Carl was on the go with the Laptap and within 2 minutes she was perfect.

Woohoo she passed, straight back into the garage for the De-cat pipe and back out for the Live Mapping.

It was around half 6 and the Lads have been on her all day making sure she was perfect. Ian said she felt very strong and one of the fastest stock turbos he’s driven J

They finished the mapping and said they set it up to be just under 1 bar of boost and it should be pushing atleast 280+rwbhp. Just what I was told over the phone so he was true to his word.

Put the car on the trailer and set off for home getting in at 23:00 Long old day!!

I’d just like to say a big thank you to Carl, Ian and Jeff for their help and info, we had a great laugh!!
I was made to feel like it wasn’t just another car to them and had personal service, which was above and beyond what was being paid.

I’d happily recommend them to anyone even though you guys already know what they are like!!

Cheers guys you made my Day!!!

Yup reading was fab :-)

There was a few nice cars there. One was a light blue Veilside and we toe\'d it 2c if it started - and first time she turned over. The guy had rebuilt it himself or something.

I think Geff\'s Black RX will be nice when its done - he\'s doing a burnout kit and has rebuilt the engine with a nice spec to.
