Title: BOV & Auto\'s
Post by: grinder on November 04, 2007, 05:01:49 PM
Not started a thread for a while - so i thought i would

managed to get a blitz bov and pipe from ausrotary ( not overly cheap - but it was OK - and only took 5-6 days to get here ! )

thought i would fit it today - not a bad job - about 30 mins - you spend more time getting the hoses loose and they always put the bolts on the clamps where you cant get a socket to !!

tried to start the car and it was flat as a pancake - stuck it on charge for a few hrs and just took her for a spin

backed it off the drive - roof down and away we went ( yes even in this weather its great with the roof down - still very warm although it was going dark )

the BOV works superb and sounds great :D :D

there is no real noise when the auto box changes gear - but if you hold it in a gear , foot down and build the boost - it sounds great as you back off

just need to get some more stuff sorted on the car - and it should be the same spec as the coupe i sold - i just need to get the decat sorted out and then i can chuck on the cone filter and new ECU for it ( should see a nice .9 bar ! )

Thanks for reading my boring post :D :D

So you got it changing gears properly then? Just remember the conversation at the Retro show that it wouldn\'t change gears quite like it should...

the torque convertor is still iffy ( unless it supposed to be like that )

but yeah it changes up ok - you just need to be gentle - you cant just floor it - it revs its nuts off !!

although if you use the hold button - it will red line quite happy :D :D :D

the IC - dunno - bought a greddy elbow last month ( and some poly bushes ) - so might look at FMIC in the future :D

and colin - it was about £65 delivered - so about right - i think i paid about £90 from the one from the US for the coupe

it wont make a noise because your not shutting the throttle during gear changes..

So Stu, this is the car that you were going to leave standard then? ;)
Told you, you\'d be modding in no time!
