Title: Pipe missing - Air pump piping?
Post by: leeroy_25 on November 03, 2007, 08:04:41 PM
I have now got most of the parts back in the engine bay and have come accross a part shortage.. there is a 3/4" bore pipe that comes on the turbo \'y\' pipe behind the airpump.. Where does this go to? I have got all the others covers as they feed directly into the air intake..

Does this go down to the CAT? If so what exactly am I missing and has somebody please got one!?

Thank you
Lee

Yep, that fits to the charge relief valve, this vents excess boost from the 2nd turbo circa 3-4500 rpm, before the change over at 4500rpm. Make sure you connect the correct valve as they look identical except for the markings, the label should be black and have CRV written after a serial number.

Guy\'s please can you post a pic of said re-circ valve! and where the piping should go to.. May happen I have a few more bits missing! I was going to get a BOV.. can I connect that to this pipe instead if the valve is missing? I presume I can also connect the BOV to the blanked off stub on the standard inlet manifold?
Engine came from a standard car so it should be all there I just need to know what I am looking for!?

Thank you

Iirc my bov was connected there, so if you\'re getting one anyway run the pipe from there to the bov.

Hmm.. E-mail me a list of what you have and some prices!! I am always on the look out for a good bargain. Leeroy_25@hotmail.com.

Has anyone got a picture of the Recirc valve that is supposed to be fitted there?

Cheers

Anyone please got a picture of what I am looking for? The standard airbox looks to have a lot of pipes going to it that this could be one of? However my aftermarket mushroom filter only has two small stubs?

Thank you.

I have managed to get hold of a copy of a manual and looking at the diagrams it shows the pipe that connects to this goes into the airbox.. It does look a bit like there is something in the pipe? Can someone please confirm.. maybe a photo of a standard airbox setup would help.

Thank you

Right ok, here\'s the CRV location:

Standard Airbox Set up, although got BOV, but standard there would be another brown valve like the CRV that would be in this pipe and connect to the airbox which i have blanked off:

and this is where the BOV aftermarket or standard connects on the y pipe:

Hope this helps, have just taken these but if you need anything let me know

Thank you very much.. That\'s perfect.. Just what I was hoping to see in fact! So all I am missing is  ablow off valve or the second CRV in the pipe to the airbox..

Cheers

Yes but that doesn\'t matter if you have an aftermarket blow off (dump) valve :Thumbs-up Just remember to block off at the air box end otherwise it will suck in unfiltered air
