Title: Insuring 2 cars
Post by: strange_days_uk on November 02, 2007, 05:25:47 PM
Can\'t find anyone to insure my FD and my Jeep at the same time.

Anyone know where I can go and not get ripped off ?

Cheers.

\'Fraid I can\'t answer the question directly, but depending on how much you use the FD, would you be better insuring the Jeep normally and getting a classic policy from AON for the FD?

I\'ve got a DC5 Integra Type-R and the FD, and the FD insurance is nearly half that of the DC5 doing it this way!

Have a word with A-Plan, they were happy to keep the FD\'s NCB in mind when they insured my runabout(s).

Um, I AM insured with A-Plan.  Always found them really helpful.

When I spoke to them about 2 cars now, they said they could mirror my ncb onto the second policy, (6 years), but it still came out at £950 odd !!  I only paid £650 on it last year before getting the jeep.  I think it was a different underwriter though..

Ok, fair enough. You may want to check with some of the specialist insurers for a 4x4 policy then, maybe? I used to have an old Range Rover which I insured via Sureterm Direct. That was insured for buttons, but it was worth the square root of bog-all and I live in a fairly insurance-friendly post code.
