Just wondering what air freshners you guys use to mask that petrol smell... personally I love the smell of petrol, but passengers say they\'re going to die from carbon monoxide poisoning! :rollin:p

My missus always knows when I have driven the car because of the smell lol.

Where do you guys find the smell comes in from ? Are there any common places to check for leaks ?

Not sure... smells more when idle/in traffic though which makes me think the exhuast just spits the stuff out!

Mine doesn\'t smell of petrol... I\'ve had cars that did which was just part of the charm but this, not a whiff!

Mine now just smell\'s of that generic imported jap car, don\'t know what it is but it seems all imports smell of "that"...

I think the smell of warm oil can get into the cabin. Mazda putting that oil filter upside-down is always a recipe for disaster.

Mine used to smell REALLY BADLY of petrol, then I replaced the Inlet Manifold Gaskett and the smell wasn\'t so bad - fuel economy improved to LOL!

Not sure what it smells like at the moment, haven\'t sat in it for 2 years! Last time I sat in the rex it smelled of magic tree!!!

Some random dolphin air freshner for me.... suprisingly no fuel smells or any mustyness at all!!!

Mine smells of japanese people still ???? Its only been in the country a year.  No petrol or other engine smells at all. My last two restoration projects ( 80 Corvette, 260Z )have dragged exhaust fumes back into the cab quite badly with the drivers window open, but no issues at all with this car.
Sounds like some people have a few unbunged holes in the  front/ rear of their cars :Nono!

mine used to do the burning oil smell untell i replaced the washer on the oil feed on the rear turbo, now it smells of gym bag.... i prefered the oil

mine smells of blueberries :D

its an airfreshner that goes under your seat and grips to the carpet.... can be strong when first put it in but the smell stays for months and months and i used to smoke too! (not had the car back since stopping smoking!!)

im  not sure the exact name of it but in halfords air freshner section, they have it on the shelf - its in a clear packaging and is like small purple beads inside a black mesh bag. its designed to go uder your seat. Next time im there i will get the name for ya - there is only one smell and that is buleberries.

i have had this in a few cars, currently in my evo.  you just need to get past the first few weeks where it is well sickly and strong and all you wanna do is chuck it out the window.
get past that and it is great for months.  but like you said it does seem to disguise old smoke smell as i think the previous owner of my evo must have ocassionally smoked in the car.

Depends......if I have a passenger it\'s generally poo but on my own it\'s kind of a cross between the smell inside of an old petrol can and a norwegian forest in winter with a particularly bad badger problem.

Having got her back from Super Seven with the engine put back in having had just about every single seal, O-ring and grommet replaced imaginable, she NO LONGER smells of petrol when on full boost! Hurrah!
 
Now she smells of smiley!
