Sounds really nice actually, very very deep but not overly really loud :Laugh

mine is a greddy/trust exsaust ith de cat and is seriously the loudest system around only one scooby and a few tvrs can match it for volume!!

is fun when going for a blast but always aware everyone nearby knows ur caneing it and on a trip up the moterway its a deep drone that is annoying but for non fun journeys i take my mondeo lol

Silenced if you want to do anything track-focussed or you\'re limited to just a few days each year...

If it\'s for posing in tunnels and other built up areas then streight through...  no half measures ;)

dont use the car a lot as never have the time to drive it.i have owned it since i imported it in 2002 with 16000 on the clock and now 5 years on it has just under 18000 on the clock so is a very occasional toy due to the fact i constantly work 70-80 hours a week so this is swaying me towards the dark side with lots of noise lol.

I used mine for a while with twins and an unsilenced mid pipe. It really got too much after 30 minutes or so on the motorway, so I changed it for a silenced one when I did the single conversion.

i just fitted a 80 mill SS un-silenced decat pipe, and a Dolphin cat back, and it is very quiet! i put that down to the Dolphin, known to be a quiet one, but i also have a 80 mill SS DP to fit before mapping, when iv\'e done that i may change back to my original cat back, as the car doesn\'t sound loud enough somehow, but may be too noisy then!

I\'ve got a very quiet setup with a cat and my neighbour complained... said it wasn\'t the volume of the noise that was the problem, but the frequency of the tone....

sheesh!

personally, I would go silenced mid-pipe but really with the nur spec you are never going to get it quiet. If you want quieter with similar flow look at other makes SMB, Racing Beat...etc.

50:50 now :)

I\'m running an SMB 3.5"-3" downpipe into a 3" silenced Dragon midpipe into a 3" SMB backbox with 4" tailpipe......and you can still hear me a couple of streets away....when you put your foot down it\'s a whole different matter and gets quite loud.

Hard to say.

The car seem quieter in the car with a straight through pipe. How ever saw 105.2db at the last trackday. Barely got away with it, had a 105db limit :Giggle

When I had the Feed mid pipe the exhaust was quieter outside but seemed to be much noiser in the car which made me go back to the staright through.

I\'ve got a feed 80mm downpipe (soon to be forsale), 80mm straight through and Ziegen 5 backbox.

If you want quiet go for a better back box, they make the most difference. If you have space own both and only use the midpipe when you need it.

I would go silenced, I wish I had now. Its great great for meets or shows or when with people that appreciate cars but you wont have many friendly neighbours if you go the unsilenced route.

Hey Shaun, have you decided how much you\'d let the downpipe go for yet? please drop me a line when you\'re looking to sell

i have a trust system with 2 sliencers no cat and an hks downpipe with twins and it is loud. its been my everyday driver for the past year as well...... i love the noise it makes and flames that come out the back but it has got a bit much and asides from the fact it blew at the start of the year ive bought myself another car now (cant justify the fuel economy either lol).

was comuting over to Belgium in it a fair amount and after a 5 hour trip your hearing did start to go.
before i had this system though i had a nur-spec with the same set up and it was even louder.
havent tracked it yet but i live near goodwood and the sound restrictions are really tight there and its hard to find something that gives you a balance with the noise and performance......
i have a silencer for it as well that goes in the back box but too much hassel getting out and fitting it and it gets kind of boring as well with the lack of power on the motorways :-)

yeah, i\'m with this guy. You think its cool at first but once you\'ve been driving for a while it gets very tiresome. I changed my [barely] silenced mid-pipe for another one with a larger silencer and have it down to 96.5 static now but i wish it was quieter still.

I won\'t be going to the \'ring this year as originally planned because of this.

You can forget Bedford as well.

I voted silenced, I am getting very long in the tooth with intrusive cabin noise. I have a feed straight through midpipe that I am looking to change for a silenced one soon and I would be very interested to know how much trade off in torque and power there is.

my N/A 13b has had the baffles removed, had a decat and still has the stock silencer. My mate can hear me a mile or 2 up the road when im coming towards him.

im guessing your set up will be even louder so i would definitely go down the silenced route. Ive got to the point where i don\'t like caning it down roads because ill attract attention

Anyway you will be able to hear them at Rotorstock all being well

The question is Twin turbo or single......

On Twins you can get away with none silenced Mid pipe as there not that loud, if you have a single then defo Silenced as they can get a bit OTT

LOL Depends on what mods your running with it, Gt35\'s are renound for getting choked with small Turbine housings.

i bought it because i wanted something that drove similar to twins and still gave me a fair bit of grunt.i was after around the 400whp and told this would be perfectly adequate (i know nothing about turbo\'s). its a nice drive, spools up nice and early and is a very very smooth just like the twins use to.
the setup i have now is nice and noise wise its perfect. i could drive the car for hours and not be over whelmed but id like to get some more power out of the car.
its currently running .77 bar
here is the setup....

it would be good to hear one of your systems. i wanted to come to rotor stock but i have to be in belgium when its on.

Sounds like you have a nice set up there, looks like you just need to get a Profect B2 then run 1 bar you will be happy, that way you can turn it off and go back to your .7, 356 at .7 is not bad at all, as i say BOOST!!!!

hmmmm i was kinda expecting a bit more tbh though from what i was told.
i spoke to the guys at a-spec tuning in america for about a month before i decided on the turbo to get......although it is very strong and smooth i was kind of expecting a little more from what they told me.
tbh though, the car is sitting at home at the moment not doing much and it does feel fairly strong and reliable.
Pip told me to go back up after id done another 3000 or more miles for some more mapping as everything in the engine is brand new!
here\'s what they claim on there website anyway:

The yank dynos do show more than the uk ones. I\'ve also got an A-spec GT3574 0.84A/R and I\'m hitting some pretty good figures with it for the size of turbo it is. I\'m also running Pips big bore system and got tested at 99dbl but they said it would be quieter if I hadn\'t bounced the throttle around 4,750 rpm. I\'ve seen 441bhp/370ftlb at the flywheel on 1.05bar on the high setting but I hardly use that because the 0.85 is quick too :D

I have to say its a very deceiving turbo in its power delivery especially when pip maps it. He loves the smooth transition to reduce step out when driving it hard. The feeling is very different to the twin turbo setup. Plenty of good comments on the kick at cadwell from passengers in the low setting :p

Sometimes a midpipe can make it louder in the car because of the restriction in the midpipe !

Usually best to get it checked if your worried about it, a silencer usually doesn\'t boost at the same point (usually more restrictive)
