Hello mate and welcome to the club.

The wheels look like Works alloys.  Are you running 9.5" all round?  If so what tyre size you running upfront?  Do you find the handling ok?

Excellent!!

Ive got my car in Mazda in silverlink on the following monday for an oil/filter change ( keeps my rebuild warranty alive) and also gonna ask them to sort two pin dents which have appeared in my passenger door.

Only took it to work once and it was concourse before, absolutely gutted.

Never again:mad:

Bad news folks I dont think my FD is going to make any local meets this weekend :(

I was greeted with the unhappy sight of more water seal failure on my FD yesterday afternoon, been expecting it for a while and looks like the engine aint going to last too much longer. Started on one rotor, chucked coolant out when hot and is now flooded on my girlfriends folks\'s drive!

Oops!  Will be going for the re-build / new engine pretty damn soon.

May well pop along in the Golf to say hi though!:wave

What about the Silverlink? No need to go to SOS if most folk are from Newcastle area
Title: newbie with new rex
Post by: ENVYD on November 12, 2007, 03:48:50 PM
yeah thats ture!
shame to hear about the car mate!
Title: newbie with new rex
Post by: D2BBA on November 12, 2007, 03:57:49 PM
Yeah not the best mate, but i\'ve had three good (ish!) years on the engine and I bought it thinking it would need a re-build.  Turned out the compression was very high and looked like a re-build had been done in Japan, however the seals must have just deteriorated over the past few years.

Will get her back on the road for the start of the show season and continue the mission!

Its all that talk of new motors that has cursed me, lol ;)

Chris

p.s. silverlink or somewhere else Newcastle way is fine by me :)

Hia mate.. welcome to the forum....

Wheels are defenatly work rims (V V Expensive!!) If you take a look at the cetre cap on the rear left wheel under the W there should be some more text (or letters) like VS or VR..... this is the wheel model, then go on to the work website & check out the price. Once you have done this you might event think about taking them off, lol!!!

Yep great to meet up with all you guys and must do it again preferably inside though as was freezing me tits off.

When the nice weather returns would love a passenger ride in the V8 :Thumbs-up

Likewise guys. Really was good to meet everyone - it\'s a rare sight to see one rex up these parts let alone a few together. I\'m pleased you liked the V8 because I\'m not into rotary v V8...I love em both. Look forward to meeting again (and yes Neil, better weather = passenger ride)
Cheers, Gary

Sorry to bail lads, I didnt think anyone would be around with the weather being all crap (or was it just the embarressment in having to turn up in a Golf:2Rolleyes).

Will defo be on for a meet somewhere warm and dry, its a shame parking is soooo restricted at my gaff, otherwise my poorly FD could have had some company!
