is the uk rx7fd3s positive or negative earth? its cause there is 2 options, one for jap cars one for european cars..... i know mine is a uk spec, but not sure if the wiring itself will be different!
negative earth. The negative post on the battery goes to the body of the car
never heard of a positive earth i thought all earths were negative
i dunno, was going by instructions!
ok, got a problem. installed into one side (unplugged the other!) and tried it out. its just clicks lots, and a very dim light is on flickering away. i remember that sound from the skyline which was generally not enough power. so i started the car and tried again, no joy.
help!
never mind.. got it working ;)
second problem.
onthe drivers side, the original wiring had the block connector to the h4 bulb. nice and easy. the passanger side doesnt, its 3 lose connectors. i didnt realise (doing it in the dark!) this when i removed the headlight. what wire is what? its different colours to the drivers side. there is a red with white strip, red with yellow stripe and black.
again never mind.. nothing a voltmeter thinggie didnt solve! by eck! these things are a marked improvement! went for a quick skint into town, and got flashed twice!!! :D
they are defo better then the ones on the skyline! :D

Old cars were positve earth as electricity travels better - to +. Ignition coils still use a - spark. ie the centre electrode in a spark plug is the - the outer body is the + and the spark travels - to +. Imagine my chat in the pub. Lol

I know your sorted now (well done)
In testing the first kit before we put them out on sale I deliberately swapped the wires around in the terminal block from Euro to Jap spec and guess what it made no difference to anything and they still worked fine :Santa
Glad your pleased with your new found light :3gears-lh
