Title: What could cause the normal running temp of my oil to increase?
Post by: M@r]{ on October 24, 2007, 03:46:38 PM
After some opinions. What are some possible reasons as to why my oil temps are reading a lot higher than they were?  On a run it used to sit between 83-86 degrees, now it is sitting between 90-93.  So roughly 10 percent higher.  Same increase when hammering it as well.  Ive carried out an oil change but so far it doesnt looked like it has solved the problem.

I do have a single oil cooler and, as you have probably noticed, I am in the process of getting twin coolers.  This will only help to bring the temps down, it is not curing whatever the problem is causing my temps to be running higher.

Any ideas?

a word of advice, never give you better half your password,  especially if she owns guinee pigs!   dont worry mark, they dont live long!

as for the oil.   have you used a thicker oil in the change,  thinner oils run a little cooler.  is all your plastic ducting to the cooler still in place?   have your fins on the oil cooler become more damaged/bent recently.    just things to look at

Cheers for the advice Tony!   I\'m having new oil coolers fitted at the weekend, will see if that brings anything to light

And the way Cheryl treats them Guinea Pigs (they eat better than I do)  I have a feeling they are going to be around for some time.  They\'ll probably outlive me!!  ;)

Cheryl,   make the car as pink and fluffy as you like my dear,  I am in touch my sexuality,   plus i have sold the car so i dont care :)

Tony ... you are right. Mark needs sectioning. And is in sooo much trouble.
That\'s just filthy. And if my memory served me correctly it was Richard Gere with a tube a bum hole and a HAMSTER (not the Richard Hammond hamster) ......

I am ashamed of you.

EVerybody knows pets of any kind of therapeutic.

You always have to lower the tone.

the club rules clearly state:

"Your membership in Mazdarotaryclub.com is a service for your sole, personal use. You may not authorize others to use your membership, and you may not assign or otherwise transfer your Membership to any other person or entity. "

Cheryl is clearly another entity, i think she should get her own membership!   she could even become the club photographer!  At least poor old Mark wouldnt be linked with Interfereing with small fury animals.

I bet he likes being in trouble,  do you punish him, do you, do you,  suit you sir :)

I have only hi-jacked \'M@r]{\' temporarily to do you guys a \'service\' in offering to do you a calendar for next year full of your precious little rx7\'s. If you don\'t want one I will bow out and go back to obscurity!

Mark has set up Mrs M@r]{ as an account but he hasn\'t told me what the password for it is .... numb nuts!

And for your information HE spends more time PLAYING with the little pigs than I do. He feeeeeds them .. looooooves them .... taaaaaaaalks to them ....!!!!

Aww ... see I knew you loved me really!!!

Mark may have sorted his little \'problem\' out. We are taking the car to London to have new oil coolers fitted on Sat morning. I am getting up and making soup and sandwiches to take and going with him! See, how supportive am i!!?? :Hammer

I didn\'t start the \'Mrs Mark\' thing ... I think Dave Hughes did and it just caught on. Those who were unsure of what my name is started doing it too and it\'s just sort of stuck. I\'m not expecting anything!!

I like that!! Mr Cheryl!! hee hee!!

Hmmm if it wasn\'t you Dave then who was it?? I really honestly cant remember but someone said it and that\'s that. Damage is done :(

Me eat pizza ... outrageous thing to say (it was rather good wasn\'t it). You should know by now you don\'t ask Mark to commit to anything you just con him into thinking it was his idea and he\'ll go along with everything!!!
