the costs would be way too prohibitive and the finish would be very dubious

ive hear the same paul. hopefully going to find out about spraying carbon which i guess would be easier.

done a search and found that it is basically pointless but wondering if you can heat carbon and bend in any way.

once carbon is formed it is basically as is
to spray they just need to flat and use same pimers and additives as for f/glass to stop cracking
it sometimes in certain light can still show a carbon weave very slightly from some angles
benefit is that the carbon bonnets are even lighter than f/glass and normally have very good fit
i personally prefer a painted bonet over carbon so a good compromise is a painted carbon bonnet
if painting you can repair carbon bonnet with normal materials as it wont show once painted

semi paint the bonnet....leaving a bit of the carbon weave showing thru. if you know a good bodyshop they can apply a really thin layer of paint a-la ferrari f40 so you can see the weave thru the paint

Chris has never removed a carbon fibre dent but has done fab work on a few big dents in my cars (one being where some thug left a boot print in the passenger side door) ... He would attempt it, thinks it would be similar to plastic dent removal. Let me know if you want his number or send me a pic of the damage so I can show him. He really is very good. Removed an elephant sized dent in Marks bonnet before now.

I know a carbon specialist, would cost a bit but what he would do is sand down the bonnet, repair the dent then re cover the whole bonnet in carbon fibre layer then laquer! So you basically end up with a bonnet that looks brand new! I got pics of he process if you want!

You cannot pop a dent out of a GRP or Carbon component. The damaged section would have to be cut out and a patch layed in. In which case it would look horrid. Your better off starting a fresh with a new bonnet or going back to a mazda one. After all your not going to notice the weight difference on a road car.
