Right let me start from the top,
My RX7 had been running perfectly but unfortunatley due to life getting hectic i havent driven the car for at least 6 months. However around 6-8 weeks ago i did take the car out for a wash and it started and ran fine.
Now i went to take the car out today, fully charge the battery over night when i started up the car this morning it started up first time ran as usually sounded sweeet! Then couple of minutes the revs drop so i went to put foot on accelerator and the car just ran and sounded rough, sounded like it had no power!
As the fuel was so old i put in octane booster it started up first time but still ran rough. Then i took out the plugs and again no change. Finally i drain out old fuel and put in fresh optimax, started up still running rough. I let it run and then took ot for a drive and that did not make much difference.
When Mr Nick from MRC heard the car over the phone he said it sounds like it running on 1 rotor!
Now when i took the plugs out two where fairly clean especially the inside of the spark and the other two were quite dirty (black). Could it be that one of the rotors is not getting a spark because the sparks are shot! Is it possible for spark plugs to go that easily as they where brand new 6 months ago! I can see it being something major as i havent driven the car for anything major to go wrong and before it was kept away it ran perfectly!
Any ideas on what it could be? Is it worth buying a new set of spark plugs????
O i am running 10\'s and 11\'s if that info is required!
Please help, Cheers
Sounds like its flooded, although 1 rotor is running the other rotor has fouled its plugs, especially as you are running such high plug numbers, either take them out give good clean and heat them or put some 9\'s in.
Cant imagine anything untoward.
The problem you would appear to have is that the plugs you are running are classed as a very cold "race" plug, the higher the plug number with these NGK\'s the colder the plug.
6 months ago in the warm weather these "cold" plugs ignited the fuel in your cold engine fine on start up, problem is we now have the weather turning cold your cold plugs can\'t cope with the drop in temperature.
I used to run a race engine that we used to have to start on hot plugs then change before we raced it because the car barely ran on cold race plugs and this is what I think you have, the car is not flooding as such but the cold plugs just won\'t ignite the fuel properly in your cold engine.
Put the 11\'s to one side as very very few engines even require these anyway, put either the 10\'s in the trailing and 9s in the leading or 10\'s all round and you should be O/K .
Hope this helps
It would be a good idea to tell us what your spec is on the car and also where you drive mostly,eg are you in a city most of the time or in the country with lot\'s of open roads?

Hey Carl im running a T78 Single turbo, live in london so city driving but the car is only taken out to events such as ace cafe or just to go out and have a drive.
Sorry forgot to put the rest
T78 Turbo running at 0.96 bar.
The car is mainly taken out to drive on open roads however to get out of london requires me doing alot of city driving!
just running around town i\'d of thought the 10\'s and 11\'s are shot i\'d try 9\'s and 10\'s.
