Stay away from HKS - you\'d be better off using a bath sponge

Apexi are the best IMO

Hey i have HKS :P and dont have a problem with them yet, the only thing i would say is the apexi would be easyer to install because they have connections on the pipes for all the stock pipes. the HKS only has 2! i think they are expecting you not to have a airpump :2Rolleyes

Somewhere out there is an independant comparison on induction kits for the RX7.  If I remember correctly they were all very close.  I think the Apexi just nipped it.  Performance wise I believe the gains are unlikely to be noticeable and the difference between kits even less so.

On an FD...Apexi had a 1hp gain over the HKS filters with Blitz & other 5hp or more lower...

Luckily for me, it came on the car when it was imported.  I would try Neweraparts, they can source pretty much anything.  Expect to pay a few hundred for it though (at least).

A  K & N filter in the stock airbox is also very good particularly if you still have the stock intercooler.
The Apexi as others have said is an excellent bit of kit too.

Go for an Apexi.
Good power gains and sounds good - even without an additional dump valve you get a good sound

Apexi filters are very good, I have a set for sale here.

If you want to keep the stock airbox, do like Carl has said and pop in a K&N replacement filter.  Power increase will be minimal, but if fitting an induction kit, its worth making a heat shield too as they sit right above the radiator.

Pair of K&n Filters gives a very good result, all for about £50
