Title: After Market ECU
Post by: Wombat-007 on October 18, 2007, 11:44:40 AM
Please excuse me if this topic has been discussed before, but I could use some help deciding the best ECU route.
I have a 92 rex and over time am looking to get it up to the 500bhp mark with street port/single turbo etc etc.
My question is which is better?
The Apexi Power FC or HKS F-CON Pro.

The F-CON is nearly double the price of the Apexi, but if the unit is that much better then its money well spent. Looking for adustability and more importantly reliability.
I also heard the newer Apexi\'s suffer from component quality issues, resulting in hefty re-build costs when the motor goes bang.

Any guidence would be much appreciated.

HKS is deffo superior, MOTEC even better, depends on the depth of your pockets :D

HKS F-CON Pro has many more tuning parameters than the Apexi and for a big power FD worth the extra £££, or like Dave said, if money is no object then MOTEC is a great bit of kit.

We have a F-CON Pro for sale if you are interested.....

Any of the ECUs above will make the power you require, the HKS will have more parameters and you can fine tune even more but you need a HKS tuner to map it for you, whereas with an Apexi you can self tune with a datalogit plus I like the Apexi commander facilty on mine to monitor
