thanks to a little suggestion by a certin someone on here ive removed my air con, and power steerin, i still need to join the two pipes up on the power steering but any way.
im now a addict.
what else dont i need?
ive got a single turbo and im waiting on an intercooler coming, my pall is making up a new inlet pipe to throttle body as the gready one dosent have a great angle on it.
i was wondering about removing the double throttle. BUT if i do how on eart does this work , shurley there will be loads of air with nothing stoping it just going into my engine?
as only 1 small buterfly on the botom is left? is this ok , how does it work?
can i just knock up a complete new inlet mainifold with 1 big say 90mm round throttle body?
would this work well?

i wondered the same but my butterflys have been removed and iv ported the plenum.. still needs a bit more porting tho lol.. but u really need to do the lim to just to get the best gains.. better n more flow the better i say.. that a speed up yer turbo spool :)

i was pondering it then i thought my capri proberly weighs more than my rex and it dont have power steering and my mum used to park it so i decided to stop being a big girl and rip it out. its not heavy at all.
whats a lim inlet mainifold of some L description?

but i could just weld up a new one any size i want for much cheaper.
ie my full exhaust and boost pipes are gona cost me less than £150
so inlet would be around £60 + throttle body.
thats yer double throttle man.. maybe yours have been removed already? u cn rip that off n plug the hole..

sweet, so if i rip that off weld up the hole and take the top 2 butterflys out not much will change?
what about where the linkages join to the normal throttle on the other side ? can i take these off to just leav me with the 1 connected to the lower butterfly?

u cant remove the tb butterflys but all the rest cn be removed and all ports can be ported, use the standard gaskets and line then up, u`ll see all that cn be cut away :) theres a fair bit lol..
as your still running your engine in and not boosting, the changes wont effect your car at the mo, but pip will map acordingly when u get it remaped after the run in.
I noticed far better throttle responce when i riped all mine out and ported it all..
yeah i didnt expect too see a difrence just now but prefer to get as much done so pip can map it all done.
so in your pic did you put the 3 buterflys back in?

On rx7club.com have a read on there, a few have made there own uim.. and theres a fountain of info on there, im still working my way through it and iv known about it fer 2 years :S only thing is, yo`ll want to do it ALL!! :D im not far away if u ever want a hand, guna be buying a used engine soon to port n rebuild..

please leave the butterflys in the throttle body alone!
if you remove them and start your car it would just rev untill you turned it off or it blew up.
remove the uim and tb.
split them, remove the assembaly in the UIM and port away, if you start opening out past the outer edges otf the tb internals you will have to port them as well.
then there is the leading side of the tb.
have a look on here (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34800) as this shows how far you can go and still use the stock gaskit, ive also port matched the lim to the ports in my block.

and suddenly all became clear.
soz dude my bad yeah theres 3 in the throttle body and 2 in the uim, the uim ones cn be removed and midle section cut out and ported.. sorry lol

yeah now that the air pump and air con pumpout, if i relocate the battery i have the room to straighten the intercooler pipes, there in such a bad design at the mo.. should help things along :D
