The minimum you would need would be a 13b bridgeport engine.
A Peripheral port would be better, but both would work very well.
On the Group B rally RX7\'s of the late seventies and early eighties they ran with Weber IDA carbs that were bored out to 51mm.

Lightened and balanced and race clearanced rotors, carbon apex seals or ceramic if you can afford them, competition stationary gears and bearings, higher pressure oil pump regulator, baffle plate in sump or dry sump, tuned length exhaust, holly redtop fuel pump,IDA weber carb and manifold.
These are mainly what are needed, but there are some other things too.

Carl

I have a feeling the rules about rallying rotaries in the UK got a little silly :(  However the person you need to speak to on here is MikeLMR, he knows a lot about it :yes

A set of 6 ceramic seals will cost about a grand:http://www.pineappleracing.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=23

PP housings aren\'t cheap, and neither are lightened and balanced rotors with cutom E-shafts
