Title: Tyre pressures for track
Post by: FlappyCat on October 12, 2007, 10:54:51 AM
Hi All

Back on the road after some overboosting & MOT hassles. Decided to treat my TII to a track day.

What are the recommended tyre pressures for the standard rubber for track use?

Thnx:

Depends on conditions but in the dry I normally go 36psi front and 35psi rear.

Once you get some heat in the tyres the pressure will go up a bit more.

I usually go for +4 psi over road pressure (last time I started at 32f 34r on my FD), and then if I have no grip I drop it down a bit. Better to start the day with too much pressure and no grip while you\'re learning the track than to run through your tyres later on

Thanks for input - tyres performed well at 35psi ... but a small incident will a tyre wall means I am looking for an offside front wing!

Anyone got one?

Preferably white with Turbo II stickers but I may be aiming high!

Thnx

you should tune your tire pressures at the track. My advice is to go out and do 10 or so laps. come in check the temps and pressures and adjust.
