Title: Wheres the starter motor and how do I replace it?
Post by: Gatesy on October 08, 2007, 03:22:54 PM
Got what I think is a problem with the starter motor.  After doing a fair bit of research I think mines dying so I\'m planning on taking it off and replacing it with a new one to see if that fixes the problem.
Where is the start on the FD and is it easy to get off??

It\'s mounted to the bell housing on the gearbox, passenger side near the clutch slave cylinder under the car. Easy to remove, 2 or 3 bolts and it\'s off. You\'ll need to remove the aluminium undertray first though. Best to use some ramps or axle stands to get the front in the air

Ah right think I know where it is.  I\'ll have to speak nicely to my local garage and lend their ramps.

Cheers dude.
