Title: what power?
Post by: weejimmy on October 06, 2007, 07:28:49 PM
i have just got my rex back from wgt
its had a rebuild ,doweld and large street ported
also a t78 single turbo

im still runing it in before its final map but just wonderd what kinda power and top speed u guys think i should be able to get out of it,
real reason is i know a guy thats got a cossie with 502 at the rear wheels and had it timed at 195 and would like to beat him basicly:burnout

the speeds all in the gearbox bud, you wont hit 195 on a standard box.

i need to sort out a intercooler to as its still standard (just for running in peirod)
dont think id take abs out as it mite save your life one day.

even on track youd be beter with it as i bet it can slow you down faster than you guessing.
just wait till last min andd jump on them and let the abs do the work.
managed to go out and have a look at engine bay,
think there are a few extras i dont need.
half fixed the birds car. the old tie it to a pole and reverse trick lol.
got the engine to turn over in my mums car too so mayby not to far away from playin with rex after all.

ive got standard wheels too.

about 180-185mph on standard manual 4.1 diff and standard wheels.
think the auto diff 3.9 can you to around 189-193.  all at 7500rpm
all depends on your rev limit as well.  higher you rev the faster you will go in each gear

i personally have had 183 speeo indicated ( untimed) on standard drive train. lots of people laughed at me though and said i was having laugh. lol
