100,000 miles on new rotar tips?? talkin sh!t?

it\'s mentioned here too : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mazda-Rx7-Type-R-Special-Edition_W0QQitemZ320162247271QQihZ011QQcategoryZ18211QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mazda-Rx7-Type-R-Special-Edition_W0QQitemZ320162247271QQihZ011QQcategoryZ18211QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

the 2 piece factory Mazda apex seals, these seals although expensive are far superior and last far longer than the original 3 piece seals fitted as standard.

just over £4,500 with a rebuild (done by the seller tho.  dodgy?) - still a very good price i think??

What\'s a sump gasket? expensive?

I notice he doesn\'t say about apex seals when he mentions the rebuild??

I can\'t say I\'ve seen the ebay advert as I\'m at work, but: the 2 piece seal is better, as far as I\'m aware than the 3 piece. Otherwise Mazda wouldn\'t have changed the design.

The second one is done by Jason @ Super Seven.  I believe his rebuilds are meant to be really good and he\'s meant to have really good after sale service.  Just what i\'ve heard thou.

Some people do use a sump gasket, some don\'t (just use Hylomar or similar) but if you get a leaky sump then to take the sump off it\'s either front subframe off to get it off from below or engine back out :(

So yeah, big job to get the sump off for a new gasket / sealant / both.

ouch, doesn\'t seem much of a bargain considering that then!

I did see a nice rebuilt one one on there with a couple of k on rebuild, and that was under £5k I think.

its best to use the mazda sump sealant rather than the dodgy gaskets, its only about 12 quid or so.

there is a Sump gasket you can get. on the DIYRE-13b rebuild DVD  he uses the gasket but uses  blue Hylomar 1st on the block then he places the gasket down then replaces the Hylomar on top of that!
