might sound like a daft question to some people but with the re amemiya bonnet what is the difference between the wet carbon and dry carbon :3Confused
and how much are these to buy???
seen a wet carbon bonnet and want it nowwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wet carbon is what you see most of the time... has the shiney\'wet\' look. Dry carbon is matt finished and id the genuine race style carbon super light weight and alsmost double the price of normal carbon.
To give you and idea on the RE-Amamiya AD9 Bonnet
wet: £930+
Dry: £2,035+
big difference as you see!!!
somebody better call me out now for a gas leak then so i can earn some double time-me thinks i might need to get saving then!!
:cheers
The RE-A stuff isn\'t cheap but my god is it good! Pretty much everything they make is fuctional not just for looks.

i take it by that then it would fit a piece of p**s then and is the best compared to some of these carbon ones u c for £4/500
There stuff, all of which i have fitted/seen, have been great fits. Obviuosly every car is stressed in different ways.
With some of the carbon bonnets i have seen around that price, not all, they are fibreglass undernieth with a layer of carbon over the top. Others are full carbon but the quaility or fit isn\'t as good or they are not a light. But the quality factor also reflects in other things like FRP/kevlar etc.
For example you can buy front bumpers form new at £200 or less for the FD in fibergalss but its not good quaility fiberglass as say the ING N-Spec at higher price. Same applies to carbon if you get what i mean.
yeah definately know what u mean as i have had a front bumper where the resin hasnt soaked in properly and needs loads of prep-pain in butt and more hassle than its worth.
as they allways say u get what u pay for:Thumbsup!
dunno if its the question your asking...but
wet carbon is where the resin layer is layed up on top of the carbon. dry carbon is where the resin is already implanted into the carbon (pre-preg)
the dry carbon is a lot harder to work with but does produce lighter and stronger items....commonly used in race circles.
just curious as to why the big price difference but that explains it :cheers
the reason i ask is because i have found a second hand one on yahoo jp but crescent will not ship as bonnet is too bulky anyone know of someone on here who could get it for me as it is damaged but a few hundred quid cheaper.
I didnt know the difference betwene the wet and dry - now I do ta :cheers
I really didn\'t notice much difference betwene the Wet AD9 bonnet and the stock ali one - the carbon was marginally lighter but not by much.
what if it rains on the dry one does that make it cheaper....?
