hello everyone, im Adam and i recently picked up an rx7 after wanting one for a little while.
been doing loads of research into the rotary engine over the last few weeks as i have a lot to learn! so expect lots of questions in the future.

will get some pics up soon but for now heres the spec list.

body:
R-Magic full wrap around kit
R-Magic carbon fiber bonnet
re-sprayed in blue

engine:
trust airinx dual air intake system
hks 3 inch downpipe, mid pipe and exhaust
nippondenso fuel pump
NGK ht leads
cooling mist water/methanol inj kit
sheepdog blow-off valve
hks twin power ignition system
bonez street clutch
knightsports ecu
AST air separation tank
stainless intercooler pipes

suspension:
koni adjustable yellows
greddy front tower bar

interior:
hks 52mm boost guage
defi control unit II
defi 60mm egt guage
defi 60mm water temp guage
razo turbo timer

and thats about it.
now as for the knightsports ecu, think im gonna swap it out for something else. anyone got any suggestions? from what i can gather the power fc seems popular.
havent apexi gone bust though?

Welcome mate to MRC,

the Apexi PFC is the most common ECU upgrade and suits the rx7 very well indeed and will the controller unit you can view what is going on and make a few ammendments as you go along.

There are still quite a few unit available although i believe Apexi do not make them anymore, a quick view on ebay will reveal a few for sale but make sure its the right year for your car.

Hi mate and welcome. Ecu choice will depend to an extent on who your tuner of choice is and what they are happy tuning also.

Nice looking car!

I personally wouldn\'t bother with the AVCR and just go straight for the Apexi PFC. That\'ll do everything the AVCR can and allow for remaps and everything else - and do a better job of it.

Hi

Welcome to the club.  What a nice looking FD....no boost in the wet !!!!!!!!!!

Nice colour, a spoiler would probably add to the look IMO but then others would disagree...

Ant way, all the best,

Any chance of seeing the motor at the JapShow finale on the 7th?

Regards,
Michaelb

Not true - the AVCR has a lot of advanced boost related features that the boost controller for the PFC doesn\'t

Hi

You are right, GT spoiler probably would not look right but a nice 99 spec from Mazda Speed ( like mine ) or Dual Flap from Knight Sports ( would love to have ) would defo add to the car IMO but the car looks great as it is any way

Michaelb

I stand corrected. my apologies.

No worries Matt - the AVCR lets you set speed, gear or rev dependent boost, so you can have low boost in first gear to help with traction, then wind it up for the rest :D

Alex the surround from a place called Shine Auto, I found them on the rx7club forum - I think it looks far better than the amemiya one as it sits flush rather than sticks out round the lights

lookint at the pic there, is it carbon, or carbon effect. As that would go perfectly with my carbon bonnet and tailgate!

If you are sticking in the AVCR boost controller without a mapable ECU and increase boost you will pop the engine. Get the Apexi Power FC ECU at the sametime and get it mapped.

I do luv the RMAgic kit on your car looks superb

Its carbon mate, they also do it in fibreglass too, and they do a few diffusers as well :Giggle

well issues wise im boosting slightly more than i would like, weather its due to my mods or a vac leak or what ever im still yet to find out. got a feeling it might be the ecu map though.
anyone got any ideas to what a full exhaust and filters would make my car boost creep to?
also iv got a random fault with my speedo and rev counter. every now and then one or the other jumps up by say 1500 rpm or 40kph for a little while then jumps back down agian. any ideas guys?

nah i dont intend on increasing the boost mate, not yet anyway. im actually trying to get it down a little.

oh and pics of the spoiler are coming soon, although im tempted to keep it.

OK, let me know if you are going to sell it...

We can always compare yours to a photo of the original which I think has some writing on it...your may be a replica

We can always swap, I have a Mazda Speed 99 spec one...
