Post by: maddyaddy on September 25, 2007, 10:02:21 PM
Ive got a lazerline 291 cat 1 alarm system fitted and I am trying to get the central locking wired up to the alarm.  I have a 2 wire door lock actuator which needs to be connected to the alarm to lock the car but dont know what wires to connect it up to.  Your help please.  Thanks

You need to find the lock and unlock wires on the alarm unit. There should be 2 wires. You can do this by using a multimeter. Arm/disarm the alarm whilst testing with the meter. You then wire these to 2 relays, one wire for each relay. You then wire your solenoid to the relays. I wouldn\'t advise wiring the solenoid directly to the alarm without the relays, as the alarm circuitry is only low current rating, you could overload it if not using relays.
