thanks
Looks like a transducer for electric oil pressure or boost gauge. Not location for oil one on fd but sure someone will know for sure.
phil
errr no idea !! lol
Could it be the actuator for the twin scroll thingy on the older S4 turbos - not sure if they had that model in Europian mainland. My PDF\'s for the older version are at home - so could perhaps find out this evening

yes is a actuator in turbo, but for what?
thanks man
up:3Confused
On the older S4 Turbo car\'s - we didn\'t get those over here in the UK - the turbo\'s had the usual wastegate and also a flap which blocked exhaust gases on one side of the exhaust manifold, forcing all the exhaust gas onto the turbine wheel at 90 degrees.
One the pressure builds up, the actuator moves the flapper and the exhaust gas can then also hit the blades at an angle - the idea behind this was to allow faster spool up of the turbo. On the later turbo\'s the turbine wheel blades are shaped to incorporate this feature without the need for the flapper - simplifying the plumbing somewhat !
Here\'s a description I found:
The unique twin chamber scroll single turbocharger was designed to provide lag free low rpm response, outstanding high RPM horsepower and strong torque throughout the power band. At low engine RPM\'s, the smaller primary chamber concentrated the exhaust gases, increasing their velocity. Above 2500 RPM, the larger secondary chamber opened, directing additional exhaust gases across the full face of the turbo blades providing further increased horsepower at high engine RPM\'s. Total horsepower from the tiny 1.3 liter motor was now a stunning 182 @ 6500 RPM, up 36 from the normally aspirated engine, with 183 lb-ft of torque at 3500 RPM. Gas mileage was still a respectable 17/23 MPG
Hope that helps.

big thanks my frends :cheers
it is not a probléme if I leave the actuator in position :open ?
If you\'re keeping the stock turbo on the car, then that actuator and the solenoid that drives it will need to be retained. If your using an aftermarket turbo, then the actuator and manifold can be removed, and the vac line plugged.

ok thanks again ;)

thanks
WTF is that !!!!!!!
that looks like the cold start thingy - i have NEVER even seen on one a RX7
you have to put some wierd liquid in it ???

yes oil, but what oil?
its :
90% ethylene glycol antifreeze and 10% water
hows that :D

lol no,is oil but for what?
are you SURE its for oil ??????????????
im CONVINCED that its not for oil
I think Grinder is right - that looks like the cold start reservoir - which is for mostly antifreeze. There is a sensor on the oil sump (basically a switch) which triggers this circuit - this stuff is fed into the engine to help with startind during sub zero temps.
It\'s more common to find them on Canadian RX\'s and in the colder parts of the USA - never actually seen one in the flesh.
see attached bitmap
thanks prof :D

big thanks grinder and prof
you are the best :cheers
we aim to please :D
