A friend sourced them from Japan.....but JM garage is doing them for £900.......non HID

Got mine for a great deal less, for myself and Master YODA...(aka JAYDEE)

but JM garage is doing them for £900.......non HID

Thanks for the comments....i just keep looking at them and smiling.

These lights are miles better than the old RE kit the bulbs are brighter and lenses are clear.......and with the HID\'s the output is excellent:2eek

will be getting mine this week...you know what ones:wiggle

Can i ask what glue/silicone did you use for the covers?
Title: My new Lights!!
Post by: Ed_RX7 on September 23, 2007, 03:30:49 PM
for the ones your getting...he may send you some silicone...otherwise just get some clear/translcent silicone from B and Q....i wouldnt go for black as you\'ll paint your bases yellow....and the silicone tends to get everywhere.

Ed... I have an old set of RE-A flush lights sat in the garage. What size are the lights in your kit and how much/where did you get the HID Kit from.
Thanks mate.:Thumbs-up

Very nice Ed,

Suit the whole design of your RX nicely mate :cheers

Am thinking about spraying some sort of logo on the front intercooler too, and particular kind of paint you have to apply as to not restrict the air flow ???

Didnt actually sell :Hammer

You have to butcher the stock headlight surround to make them fit. I had to buy a dremel to do it propperly...took me about 14 hours in total, from C-West, Cutting, Re-wiring, Fitting RE-A & then aligning the beams...if you get your lights off take a couple of pics and show us how they did it fella...
Title: My new Lights!!
Post by: Ed_RX7 on September 24, 2007, 07:50:20 PM
they seemed pretty simple to fit and the cutting doesn\'t seem that bad........when it comes to the wiring that was a doddle...it was just plug and play....all that was needed was a positive feed and an earth...thats it.....all the wiring and relays come in the new kit you just put male to female....if you know what i mean:D
Title: My new Lights!!
Post by: Rixio on September 25, 2007, 07:02:52 PM
Yeh wiring wasnt the problem just that i swapped the C-west over from the other car and it had totally different wiring. All it needed was a little longer wire...:)

The cutting and positioning was the major issue that was time consuming :p

what make are your lights mate?

Post by: rx7veilside on September 26, 2007, 06:39:13 AM
ed the problem you wiill have with the lights is there is no cut off or beam pattern
the hid capsule has no diffuser/shield so u will be blinding the driver in front and oncoming traffic and will poss get a pull from the old bill
its a shame because the re kit is a lovely one but as with most rx7 things there is a setback
the hella 90mm units are best but hard to get beam pattern onto the road
hella do a 50mm hid unit which wld prob be better
the trick is to get the unit as far forward as poss but still clear the lexan cover
they need to be as high as poss to clear the bumper which cuts out a large portion of the beam

lee wld like to discuss how u are getting on are u using the hella 50mm hid units and the 50mm halogen for high beam

sneak preview of mine...:Tongue1 more once i\'ve finished installing them...:Party

Post by: Ed_RX7 on September 26, 2007, 04:57:56 PM
never said i had a problem with the lights at all....MOT guy checked them and lined them up for me and said they were spot on. .....I get extra beam on the nearside of the car ...as i should...and no blinded drivers.:xconfused

remember i have the new kit not the old design. Also..I have a decent HID set up...not a sub standard chinese.cheap set.

maybe thats made the difference.

prob wrong choice of words by me
what i mean is the lights have no beam pattern and the hid capsule will just flood the light out as there is no shroud to direct it like on a projector
can u give a close up pic of ur dipped beam..wld like to get a good look at sometime as i stated mine are not perfect and if i can improve on things woth mine i will
