Title: What\'s going on here? How do cross overs work???
Post by: RemarkLima on September 19, 2007, 03:33:29 PM
Hey all,

I have no idea about ICE and the like... So I\'m sure other\'s here do ;)

My FD came with tweeters at the back and by the A pillars... But they never seemed to work, and the one\'s on the A pillar kept annoying me. So foolishly the other day I just snipped the wires to the tweeters, stuffed the wires down into the door card and put in fresh A pillar triangles.

D\'oh! As now, all my speakers stopped working, so out came the stereo and I found if I unplugged the rear set of speakers the fronts would work.

So I\'m looking to just stick in some new speakers (should be OK to fit those I reckon), but why would the rears stop working if I removed the tweeters from the front??? And they didn\'t do anything anyway?????

Can I just bin all the crossovers and tweeters without concequence? ANd use the origional wiring? Not an ice junkie, but would like 4 speakers ;)

sounds like a wiring jumble best bet is pull all the crossovers and tweeters out and start again i think

its no problem the wiring must still be there just get rid of the tweeters and cross over wiring that should leave you with just a + and - for each speaker
