Title: New Wheels and Opinion needed
Post by: Alex T on September 19, 2007, 01:01:28 PM
heres my new wheels. put them on yesterday.
18" RacingHart CR, split rims, powder coated in black.

What you reckon?

I love the black and the red together. And they will really complement my carbon bonnet when I get it!!

Also, a quick question.
Door graphics down the side of each door, under mirror, ie: Makes of all the things I have on car. (shopping list lol). Is this OK do you think, will it suit?
Or steer clear? Decals will be black too.

Cheers!

I was thinking of a carbon wing, to go with new carbon bonnet. But now with bigger wheels, I\'ve fallen in love with the \'bare arse look\' again.. :D

I\'m normally a fan of the bare arsed look but I think a Carbon GT wing on the back of that would look superb!!

8 Fronts, 8.5 Rears. I\'ve got small spacers on back too, and will be upgrading to slightly wider rear tyres too.

Very nice indeed, Racing Hart make fine wheels. Nice colour on the car. House of Kolor Candy Apple??

Black Windows, Carbon bonnet, and drop it an inch and a half.

Job done, no need for big gay fairy wings ;D

Jim, GMJ. Cheers guys! Yeh, i think I may steer clear of the decals, until I find a full car set I like. Or design one!

Dave, I\'m not sure on tints. Really dont want to give them another reason to pull me over, other than the fact they\'re jealous sods!!

Lowering, hmmm I\'m again unsure as it sat very low on the 17\'s (with larger prof tyre), but its sitting on Bilstein shockers, which I cant work out if they are aftermarket or not. As they have Re-Amemiya badges on them.
But then, while it was on the 17\'s, there was such a gap around the wheels, it made e think they were RZ Bilsteins? So standard height..
once cars back on road I\'ll see what she drives like! (lots of speedbumps round here!)

Will be smoking lights reps and reflectors at some point too.

Got popups going back on soon, with headlight vent on drivers side (I think) cant decide wether to do them red, or a different colour black/carbon to go with the carbon bonnet?

For me...thats a lovely car.

If I had all funds, I\'d do matching colour not carbon feed bonnet with popups matching too. I dont like carbon on any other colour than white, black or grey / silver, just my personal :D

Still loving your car mate whichever direction you go with it  :chat

Those wheels are the nuts only thing is I would have left them original

I\'m unsure what finish they were originally, as they do come in a fair few designs. But in all honest, the powdercating job on it is second to none.. And looks mint.
And being split rims, I may get a wider \'dish\' made up for them at some point

you should try a red pinstripe round the outer edge of the rims so you\'ve got your own \'time attack\' racing hart rims. oh and def needs lowered more, and wouldnt bother putting any stickers on it. lovely car otherwise!

Looks great there mate with the wheels !!

I agree that you need a wing.

Do you have an aftermarket rear bumper ? Think it would need one of those to be perfect also.

Great car !!!!

Bob, Cheers mate!
I was actually looking into taking the split rims apart at some point and maybe having a go at the red/black theme there too. we\'ll see!

Gmogle,
It\'s got Re-Amemiya Rear Spats on it currently, which I think rather suits it. But was thinking about another rear bumper at some point maybe, although paint is going to be so hard to match ! LOL

Cheers everyone!

Looking good bud :)

Pesonally I like the smooth look and would leave it without a wing or any over the top graffics.

dont lower it unless you want to be taking that bumper off all the time and keep having it fixed i got the same bumper and bilstein shocks the fooker scrapes on ****e all the time dread to think what it would be like lower oh and i think smooth on the rear you got alot going on everywhere else a spoiler i think will be overcrowding it if you know what i mean :)

yeh even on the current setup the car wouldnt go near small curbs even! So speedbumps would be a nightmare..
Althought he 18\'s are abviously larger than the 17\'s I had before, the profile is infact  smaller, so overall diamter, should effectively be the same..
So ride-height should be same too.

What Bilsteins is it you have?
Mine are same as what John Hudson was selling recently:
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e12/asthier/sale/sus1.jpg
think the little silver sticker on there, is what mine has too (Re-Amemiya)

:(  looks like I\'ll be on the lookout for some coilovers soon then.
I\'m not sure, but I dont think mine is an RZ.. I dont have the sticker on the inside of door (must have been removed when it was respraid!)
I have leather rear seats, twin oil coolers, no sunroof. So must just be a type r with RZ suspension maybe?

Rixio, Alison. Thanks!
Will keep you all up to date with progress as and when. :3gears-rh
