Post by: wee_blim on September 18, 2007, 01:23:34 AM
So Im finally getting round to buying all necessary gadgets for my fd, got power fc here, boost controller on its way and will be getting a few temp guages to, I really would like an idea of good places to mount all this stuff, Ive currently got a turbo timer on top of steering column, (which im thinking about removing due to the bastreward vibrating constantly on motorways) so looking at maybe putting it down in footwell somewhere.

I wanna keep space for headunit, but will take out bottom cd holder bit to make room for either gauges or the profec b controller.

Was wondering if people wouldnt mind posting a few pics of there interior with mounted bits for me to maybe get a few ideas of where I can put all this crap :Giggle

Cheers :D

If you buy the SPA gauges they offer a rather nice option of dual digital gauges, and they are able to fit exactly in the existing pods.  You can then get Water Temp/Oil Pressure, Boost Pressure/Inlet Temp, and Fuel Level/Fuel Pressure....Or you could have Oil Temp/Oil Pressure and Fuel Level and Water Temp.

I can get them to you if you need them....drop me a mail!

Those are exactly the ones I mean!

The prices for these start at £120 +VAT + P&P  This comes with all the sensors and wiring loom.  They are truely excellent!!!

They look really nice :)

You could also get a dual or triple gauge pod which fits in place of the top speaker grill. If you don\'t find any pics I\'ll take one of my dual pod and post it up tonight.

Cheers,
Alex

n4bes has a really sweet triple dial setup in the door to the glovebox on the passenger side. Looks absolutely stunning.. in fact it might be just above the glove box i cant quite recall, just remember it looking gorgeous !!

The gauges are very reliable, will allow you to set warning alarms, are replace 2 gauges for the space of 1.

Personally I think the dash looks a lot neater without loads of pods all over the place, and probably cheaper once you\'ve paid for the pods too.

Atomic, how do you set the warning alarms on those SPA gauges then ?

You get a button in the wiring loom that you use.  It can be put on the dash, or hidden...but its pretty easy to set.  You will get a full instruction booklet to run with it.

Sam (D1WTF) used to run 2 gauges in his car....worked brilliantly for him.

I currently use SPA\'s Microdash, which is more of a real time logger, it is capable of displaying and logging 8 channels, as well as track mapping etc.

The new car will be running a MOTEC ECU, along with the AIM dash, Id love to run the ADL Dash as its the muts nuts, but its almost 3 times the price and although it is capable of running the challenger space rocket, to be fair....I don\'t really need to know my re-entry speed, as I take off at Avon rise!
