My baby is now at Hurley being serviced, i found them pretty helpful and they let me drool on there 6 rotor 900bhp beasty they produced to show the power of rotary.
Anyway one thing ive noticed now most of my other probs are winding up and going away, is a whine under the bonnet, it sounds like its coming from the alternator, certainly around the belts and stuff, its only obvious when i rev it over but it annoys me cus its spoiling the lovely engine sound.
Has anyone else had this prob does it sound normal, and can it be fixed, i.e. some oil dripped somewhere???
Cheers
Adam
Hopeing to come to next meeting near brum when shes all up and running and looking gorgeous :)
you mean they actually let you stay on site they pretty much told me to fek orf while they thraped my car about! Which was the 6 rotor then i read the aging newspaper articles he had on wall about triples & a 4 rotor as i recall? Anyway will be happy to torment you on the meet front soon...;)

does it go away if you spray the belt with WD40 ? ... if it does order yourself a new belt from Mazda (don\'t buy a cheap one they are rubbish)

I have the same thing. Mike, my belt is only about 10k miles old, 2 years. Shouldnt it last longer than that?
Where to spray the wd 40? On the face of the belt that contacts the pulleys? Both sides?
I was wondering if it was the idler pulley?
Hi Martin,
might just need tightening, they do go slack after a while, on the WD40, just squirt a little on the belt ... if it stops you know whats making the noise. It only stops it for a few days though so its best to re-tension or replace (whichever is required)
