Title: MY 1997 tye RS
Post by: Johnerz on September 14, 2007, 08:07:39 PM
Hi folks, after 3 months of searching and surprisingly straight forward paperwork (imported myself no agent on this side of the planet) my car is about to be collected.  mods are blitz nur exhaust, blitz dump valve, rear spoiler (will def be changed) side skirts, mazdaspeed dials and blitz boost gauge.  looks like there is a turbo timer and a switch on the dash (not sure what that is for so any ideas appreciated)

Looks lovely.

First job (after removing that aweful switch!) is to bin that Japanese rubber for something decent.

Good luck and enjoy !!

:cheers

lol i havent even picked it up and already its nearly down to the shell!!!  yeah, the spoiler and windscreen spoiler are getting changed for 99\' spec rear spoiler.  side skirts will probably come off too and im indecided about the rear bumper as well.  i like the standard look fine, except i fancy some re-a headlights and maybe vented bonnet as well.  ill be sure to let those who have an interest know if/when bits are available!!!

oh aye, thanks for the posts about the car and cheers for feelin\' welcome folks

Looks good.

The rear spoiler is a mazdaspeed GTC original... matching for Side skirts.

Keep it dude. much more effective.

But the extra bubbles are mounted in the whong place. strange.
They usually cover the 1991 wing position holes. If the car was 1996 wing then the holes wouldn\'t be there. looks like they just stuck them on anywhere.

Rear is autoexe.

Mazdaspeed GTC front MS carbon copy Bonnet and MS01 wheels would finish it nicely.

cheers for that info mate its a big help.  i did wonder what the extra bubbles on the boot lid were.  im still puzzled as to what the switch thats infront of the rev counter is for.  ill see on tuesday when i pick it up what its wired up to, any ideas? i have a few other pics a could put up showing more if it would help.

just had a worrying thought though after reading this post about the body parts.  im coming over to collect the car tomorrow and hope that all these parts are actually still on the car! it arrived on the 5th in liverpool and is in the yuwa bonded yard. not sure if it went straight there off the boat and how many people have had access to it.   ive read about some horror stories but unfortunately much of it is out of your hands really

heres hoping....
